When people knock your kid

Posted on August 28, 2007August 28, 2007 by Mamapumpkin
The last few weeks at school have been report card days with parents and one of the topics that have come up is how far a teacher should go when she doesn't have a good report about your kid. Should she just tell it like it is? Or.......click to learn what next.

Cheeky Monkey antics of a 3 year old

Posted on August 28, 2007August 28, 2007 by Mamapumpkin
I love the way children are so innocent. Whenever Tee is doing something illegal, up to no good, she will fore-warn us outright. Like, “Mummy, please don’t look under my bed because I’ve hidden my drug addict boyfriend there.” OK, maybe at that age, she'd be a little.......click to learn what next.

Whilst swinging Tee around laughingly threatening to throw her away into the dustbin, she giggles, "You cannot throw me....." she frowned and lamented. "Why not? Why can't I throw you?" "Because......I am your PRECIOUS!!!" she stated with such confidence. "My precious??? What makes you think you are my.......click to learn what next.

Men, lies and a love affair

Posted on August 18, 2007August 18, 2007 by Mamapumpkin

Tee’s end of term report

Posted on August 17, 2007August 17, 2007 by Mamapumpkin
It's show off time again! Tee dancing on stage during Assembly. Sometimes I wonder if Tee's teachers love her more than I do. Perhaps she shows them her good side only. Or perhaps they are just trained to handle these little monsters better than I do. The way.......click to learn what next.

A f#%ing great book – The Kite Runner

Posted on August 16, 2007August 16, 2007 by Mamapumpkin
When I first heard of The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, I turned a blind eye. The title didn't appeal to me, I mean, what the hell did I care about kites? And the monotone photograph of the back of a boy peeking beside a wall did nothing.......click to learn what next.

Weight loss or inch loss?

Posted on August 16, 2007 by Mamapumpkin
At Tee's Doctor today, I weighed myself with a real weighing machine. Not a wonky one like the one I have at home. My heart skipped a beat at the extra kilos till I pacified myself that perhaps I was building muscle. My jeans are certainly looser. Yesterday,.......click to learn what next.

Trouble with toddlers taking medicine

Posted on August 16, 2007August 16, 2007 by Mamapumpkin
Tee has always been one of those rare weird kids who loves brocolli and spinach, and everything else green and leafy. She is also the strange child who drinks tomato juice, green tea and unsweetened 'leong char'. And she LOVES medicine. Yes. While all our counterparts fight with.......click to learn what next.

Yoga really helps

I attended a one-to-one trial yoga class today and felt so good after. My sinuses totally cleared and my body felt like a brand new engine again. Oiled and serviced and ready to perform backbends. Life’s greatest challenge….

Posted on July 28, 2007 by Mamapumpkin
Is Motherhood. I'm kidding. Out of the whole population today, what percentage of it do you think have mastered the art of non-judgement? In our daily lives everyday, how often do we, as humans, judge others? Passing judgement is an easy thing to do. Dependent on our expertise.......click to learn what next.

CHANGING THE WORLD MOVEMENT

I love green

Once upon a time, she designed buildings and interiors of corporate offices and on the rare occasion, homes. Now, she cleans poop and is student of a patience management course. From the drawing board as a London Architect to the realities of Motherhood, she has certainly learned many lessons in humility. And then others…..

To succeed in the corporate world, first succeed with your kid as the happy boss. Seriously.

I love green

This blog is about Mamapumpkin: A strong, kick-ass Mom who works full time juggling several jobs – the full-time paid job, the raising of her 2 kids (she gets paid in kind for this) and the volunteering job for various charity organisations and parenting websites. Needless to say, she gets very little sleep (3-5 hours per day, Margaret Thatcher who used to sleep 4 hours per day during her conservative career inspires this crazy lifestyle).

Mamapumpkin intends to change the working Mom landscape in Malaysia where working women can bring their children to the corporate office of a client and not be frowned upon.

I love green

She writes about anything that comes out of her head but mostly seeks to inspire and share about all things that will bring benefits to others.

Her 2 girls drive her towards challenge after challenge, 24/7…..day after day…..and interestingly, her parents are Muslim, her in-laws Buddhist, she’s Catholic and her Hubs, an Atheist. She’s thinking her kids should be Hindu, just to complete the rainbow religion cycle.

Gotta love it.

She’d love to hear from you : Mamapumpkin at gmail dot com
