Posted on July 26, 2010July 26, 2010 by Mamapumpkin
As explained earlier about T1's weekly stay at Nan's, on her 2nd week, she made Mommy some paper jewelery from cut out magazines, then rolled them using a thin chopstick and glued together to make little paper beads. Awesome! She excitedly presented me with 2 boxes, pink and.......click to learn what next.

Monkey traps in KL?

Posted on July 26, 2010 by Mamapumpkin
You heard right. Just 100 yards from our home, stands a large green metal container, about 7 by 7 feet high and wide, that we pass by everyday on our way home from school. And on lucky days, we'd catch the monkeys at lunchtime with food strewn across.......click to learn what next.

Project paper mache at Nana’s

Posted on July 25, 2010July 22, 2010 by Mamapumpkin
Ever since we managed to convince T1 that staying at Nana's over the weekend was way more fun (we threatened her with balls and chains literally) than hanging out at home, she's settled into a new weekend routine much to Uncle Ben and Nana's dismay excitement. And it's.......click to learn what next.

Narcissism is prerequisite for success

Posted on July 24, 2010 by Mamapumpkin
I read that today. How interesting. It obviously has some truth in it as I have always wished I was more vain. If I were more vain, I'd be slim and looking great, not living my life as a dowdy Ah Sow, on a daily basis. My daughter,.......click to learn what next.

Learning Similes

Posted on July 24, 2010 by Mamapumpkin
What the hell are similes, you may ask, especially if you are not an English Teacher? Well, I had no clue. A simile is a figure of speech comparing two unlike things with similar properties, for example, I am as busy as a bee, T2 is as cool.......click to learn what next.

What is little T2 looking at so curiously? On a daily basis, T1 will entertain T2 as she needs a platform to perform. She needs an audience and who better to pick than her own little baby sister, who is always enchanted by Che-Che's songs, moves and grooves.............click to learn what next.

Flykidz at Solaris

After a long time of begging, we finally allowed T1 to start the gym this year. But we've stopped everything else. I find this a suitable gym for this age group as they teach the kids some solid gymnastic skills (like handstands, cartwheels, roll-overs, somersaults, balance beams and.......click to learn what next.

Should babies watch TV?

Posted on July 19, 2010July 14, 2010 by Mamapumpkin
When T1 was a baby, I allowed her to watch those Baby Einstein videos that were supposed to stimulate babies. Those days, they weren't available in KL and we had to either purchase them overseas or stole them from friends. At some point, they made it to KL.......click to learn what next.

Born to be the teacher’s pet

Posted on July 17, 2010July 14, 2010 by Mamapumpkin
That'll be my T1. Every other day, she comes home from school 'boasting' about how her teacher always asks her to help. Of course, she only dares 'boast' to me. She isn't allowed to do it otherwise. Either help in the canteen or help in the classroom, almost.......click to learn what next.

The importance of sleep in children

Posted on July 8, 2010 by Mamapumpkin
According to Doctor Marc Weissbluth, a children's sleep expert, and the late Tracy Hogg, who was my life saviour for T1 (and the best book I'd recommend for every new mother), most people underestimate the importance of sleep in children. Developing compassion in children

CHANGING THE WORLD MOVEMENT

I love green

Once upon a time, she designed buildings and interiors of corporate offices and on the rare occasion, homes. Now, she cleans poop and is student of a patience management course. From the drawing board as a London Architect to the realities of Motherhood, she has certainly learned many lessons in humility. And then others…..

To succeed in the corporate world, first succeed with your kid as the happy boss. Seriously.

I love green

This blog is about Mamapumpkin: A strong, kick-ass Mom who works full time juggling several jobs – the full-time paid job, the raising of her 2 kids (she gets paid in kind for this) and the volunteering job for various charity organisations and parenting websites. Needless to say, she gets very little sleep (3-5 hours per day, Margaret Thatcher who used to sleep 4 hours per day during her conservative career inspires this crazy lifestyle).

Mamapumpkin intends to change the working Mom landscape in Malaysia where working women can bring their children to the corporate office of a client and not be frowned upon.

I love green

She writes about anything that comes out of her head but mostly seeks to inspire and share about all things that will bring benefits to others.

Her 2 girls drive her towards challenge after challenge, 24/7…..day after day…..and interestingly, her parents are Muslim, her in-laws Buddhist, she’s Catholic and her Hubs, an Atheist. She’s thinking her kids should be Hindu, just to complete the rainbow religion cycle.

Gotta love it.

She’d love to hear from you : Mamapumpkin at gmail dot com
