Ever since we managed to convince T1 that staying at Nana’s over the weekend was way more fun (we threatened her with balls and chains literally) than hanging out at home, she’s settled into a new weekend routine much to Uncle Ben and Nana’s dismay excitement. And it’s been great! For us, that is.
Every Friday, we all hang out at Nana’s till dinner then come home without T1. Wow! Silence is GOLDEN!!!
T1’s Saturday mornings are now spent with Nana and Uncle Ben at the swimming pool where she gets to become even more Indian (she currently has 10% Indian blood but her skin colour shows 72%) from at least 3 hours in the scorching sun. Then she eats ravagingly and is forced down for a nap by Nana. Before Nana can get an ounce of shut eye, T1 is up begging Nana to start their project for the week.
Nana has to work extra hard now to come up with a project every week for T1. Their first weekend together was spent making a paper mache bowl. It was T1’s first time dealing with paper mache and she was really excited to learn what starch was, the real stuff, home made glue (is that even possible?) you buy from the kedai runcit.
She made the bowl for me, with me in mind…..how sweet……
Green, my favourite colour……although I wouldn’t say this was my favourite shade of green……
Looking inside….T1 keeps asking me where I’d put it and how I’d use it. I haven’t a clue – any ideas?
And she was so proud that she drew my favourite flower on it – the sunflower.
At night, whilst they waited for the paper mache to dry, they baked cookies! Chocolate chip cookies…..
Sundays are spent playing her DSi, watching TV and relaxing or bugging Uncle Ben with the computer to draw or type or write etc. Oh, and fighting with Tok-Tok over Nana’s time and what to watch on TV.
I am very curious to see how long this will last. How long Nana and gang can keep up with this weekend arrangement before they shout SURRENDER!!! Lucky Uncle Ben though, as he’s leaving the country come end of the month when Nana will have to hold the T1 fort herself with her silent partner, Tok-Tok……
Let’s just hope it lasts because we are having a blast at home every weekend!
