Do you know anyone who is gifted? Gifted people have generally higher IQs than the general population but are possibly handicapped slightly in the emotional department. They are less sensitive and do not get easily affected by human behaviours as much as our environment and are generally more impatient as well simply because their brains are working much faster than the next person and they fail to comprehend why others are slower.
Gifted people can process situations much faster and have the ability to see things from a much wider angle. Whereas most will call a spade a spade, the gifted person will see a hundred other uses of the spade! And understanding systems are so much easier for the gifted person as well. Yet they cannot understand human behaviour. It is intriguing and perturbing and irritating almost why others just get so upset over nothing, or don’t understand what they see as crystal clear.
This forms a disparity. It requires communication and understanding on both parts to have a connection.
All of us are wired differently with different brain powers. This does not mean to say that you were born less clever or more clever. It is HOW YOU USE AND FLEX YOUR BRAIN MUSCLE that will get you higher in the brain arena. Your brain is a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it gets.
The very few gifted ones were born with more activated brain cells but that is not to say that one cannot train the brain to work just as fast, or just as well. And of course, if you are damn lazy and prefer not to think, wanting to do minimal hard stuff, then accept that your brain will deteriorate with time because oxidation is real and for each day that you do not use your brain, your brain cells deplete slowly but surely.
Gifted people are often misunderstood. It is a sad fact. People say they don’t care, don’t do this, don’t do that, or does this and not that, but they have no idea that the gifted person isn’t even remotely aware of what is happening. With all good intentions, they are very often treated unfairly and become socially inept unless in situations where other similarly gifted people can connect at the same level.
The next time you criticise someone, ask yourself if it is possible that the person you are criticising has a disability or is gifted. It doesn’t matter what area of criticism your thoughts go. We should be more compassionate and less ignorant to the world surrounding us. It is so much bigger.
