Just Curious

If someone made you a recommendation or an introduction, would you report back to them once you’ve tried their recommendation or met up with the person they introduced you to? What if it was a really bad recommendation or you had a really bad experience? I’m curious……

I would certainly report back whether it’s good or bad but not everyone is like me, nor wants to be like me. I’m entitled to my opinion, no? And you’re entitled to yours.

I find it strange when I make you a recommendation or an introduction and after seeing you 10 times after that, you do not tell me what your experience is or what you’ve been up to with whom I introduced you to. It isn’t that I’m so nosy that I need to know. It’s just that I myself do it….because I feel it is polite. Am I right?

Whenever I am introduced to a new person, let’s say Annabel by Brigit, I’d always let Brigit know should I decide to meet up with Annabel and invite her along even. Or if Annabel invited me out, I’d always tell Brigit. At least for the first few times until Brigit knew that a new friendship was forming. I feel rude if I started going out with Annabel and leave Brigit out of the picture. Is it just me? I’m curious.

Where is this going?

I have a friend, S, and I introduced another friend, H, to her. They have been in touch. The strange thing is, H tells me everything that goes on between them but S doesn’t. Why is S being so secretive? There really is nothing to hide….or is there? I’ve met S on several occasions and am in contact with her but she has not once mentioned that she has made contact with H ever since I introduced them. Weird, huh?

And no, she never went about chasing people for sales. She had a sophisticated system work for her through technology and a smartphone.

She believes that we can all have a life of our own desires to enable real contribution into the world. But first, one needs to understand what this all means.

  1. weird!

It’s the same like if i were to buy you something, say.. a slice of cake. After you have eaten it, I’d like to hear, “oh the cake was yummy” or even “My dog really loved it”

If u said the second one, then at least I know not to buy for you next time, rite?

  2. Hahaha it all sounds very funny but yes, I can identify with your situation!

It happens to me, too, and I realize the one who doesn’t tell you anything is the one who is ‘sort of competing’ with you. After a while, you kinda know who is sincere and who just wants to have your friend to become theirs! And yikes! I really dislike the latter! I basically leave them out of my social circle after a while. And oh, they are also the ones who usually won’t ‘share’ their friends with you!

  3. why u want 2 complicate yr life like that? why u want to mess wth yr own head? perhaps she didn’t think it was anything worth telling? after all diff ppl hv diff values/thought on it. perhaps she didn’t say anything cos she didn’t know the protocol n didn’t know there was anything to say? don’t think too much over it lah. life only gets complicated when one deliberates too much. 🙂 *hugs*
