My baby T2 is allergic to sleep. Have you ever heard of toddler sleep allergies? Well, darling T2, she is allergic to sleep. It is a rare condition and unfortunately, we happen to be one allergic family. When you try putting her to sleep, she turns into a monster of gargantuan proportions, screaming and screaming that she does NOT f#cking want to sleep, don’t you get it, you stupid adults?!! Sleep causes her extreme pain!!! Apparently.

After countless episodes of fighting fire with fire, and lots of tears and screams, I’ve given up putting her to sleep. I can never ask her first if she’d like to go to bed as she’d fly into a rage of Medusa even when you retract your question. I just pay closer attention to her tiredness cues, like when she starts rubbing her eyes and ears. And wriggling her tiny bum. They’re like dogs, these toddlers. Oh, and I forgot to mention, disobedient dogs – The Terrible Twos.

Due to her regrettable sleep allergies, it is not uncommon for me to find her at home in these strategic yoga poses, very much in Lala-Land.

From afar, I wondered, what the HECK is she up to now licking the couch??? I wouldn’t put it past her, this monster is capable of anything…….although, I must remind you again (especially to those of you who’ve met her, she is capable of switching on her princess switch and CLICK!, appears to be the most docile, gentlest of princesses…….)

I swear, she was fast asleep in this position, which begs one to wonder, what the HECK was she doing just before she passed out cold???
