Let us discuss this very shunned topic of Network Marketing Business Models today whilst I take a break from my keynotes presentation that I need to complete before the weekend when I fly off again for work.
Network Marketing is NOT a pyramid scheme for goodness sake. Just because an organisational chart is in a shape of a triangle does not mean it is a Pyramid Business. Get educated, people.
A Pyramid Scheme is one where you pay money into a ‘business’ but you get only paper back. This means there are no tangible goods and you rely on that piece of paper or website (which can go anytime, mind you) for what is promised to grow if you can recruit more people to join the business. BAD NEWS. This puts you at risk because you have nothing to show for your money. Many investment schemes are pyramid schemes per se because all your get is a promise. Or a piece of paper or a website link or an App.
Having a triangular shaped organisation does not mean you are a pyramid scheme business. Take Shell or Petronas for example, if you studied their organisation chart, they have a Chairman at the top followed by the CEO and the CFO and COO and it gets bigger and bigger at the bottom, correct? Are they pyramid schemes? No.
Young Living for example, is ALSO not a pyramid scheme because it supplies quality products that you pay for. You have tangible goods in your hands so no matter what happens to the company, you have paid for your goods and you have the goods. No issue.
What is good about network marketing models is its potential for growth and the power of everyone growing together rather than one person growing in the corporate world.
What it essentially is is that network marketing companies put the money that would normally go into stores, shops and advertising fees, celebrity ambassadors, beautiful packaging, logistics, and other peripheral costs into the people called distributors. Therefore instead of us buying from Guardian Pharmacy for example where lots of branding money and renovation costs have been spent on the business, we get our supplies DIRECT from a distributor.
There are pros and cons in that itself because just WHO is the distributor? Is she a stranger? Is she a friend? Is she a friend who could cheat you? Is she a trusted friend? Is she someone recommended? Does she have a good track record? Is she a stranger turned friend? Be careful of this because the worst types of distributors are the ones super nice to you upfront because they want to make a sale. Don’t count on them to see you through your entire journey of product usage. We know of distributors where the moment you do not do as they wish, they penalise you in all sorts of ways. Do not go there. It is a painful, tedious, expensive route. I did just that and I have learnt from my mistakes.
I bought a machine from someone and the person who sold it to me no longer gives me any support. I also signed up for some supplements from another distributor, remember that? I chose to leave that organisation because I did not feel that best practises were carried out and the problem with these types of things is you just never know, do you, if someone you get a product from is of quality ethics or not. How far would a distributor go for you in supplying you the products? Remember too that distributors are humans like you and me so you cannot expect them to be your slaves to pick up your products for you and deliver them to your doorstep! There is such a thing called DELIVERY FEES that you could pay the company to do the deed if you are too busy to do it yourself. Distributors are supposed to introduce the products to you and that’s it. Whether you want to try it or not is entirely up to you.
Of course if you are lucky enough to stumble upon a GOOD and ETHICAL distributor, then you may actually start a beautiful journey of positive change. Great products, great friends, great support system, great life of purpose and abundance. PERFECT. A G&E Distributor would be able to give you REAL VALUE in knowing and learning your products so that you can maximise your benefits in using them and actually LOVE the use of them and a G&E Distributor would also teach you how you could get your products for FREE by sharing it in any way you are comfortable to share. She would have designed the dozen ways already for you to share and you only need to do whatever you are comfortable with with a whole team behind you cheering you on.
And this, ladies and gentlemen is why and how I have succeeded in not one but TWO network marketing modules back to back because the reality is, people buy YOU. I was already doing good business before I entered the network marketing arena in corporate thus this is no different for work. It is however a million times more rewarding in TIME FREEDOM, FINANCIAL FREEDOM and just ANYTHING FREEDOM.
I am really free.
I get to spend all my time with my children or anyone else that I please. I can book a flight on a holiday anywhere I wish, anytime I wish, for however long I wish, and with whoever I wish. This is REAL! I don’t need to budget or look at price tags whenever I eat out or buy stuff from the malls, even abroad. I have the luxuries and comfort to enjoy flying comfortably and sleeping comfortably as well anywhere in the world.
But you know what? That is not why I do what I do.
I could really just sit and do nothing right now but what would I do??? Have lunch daily with a bunch of Datins? I would be so bored. In my almost 50 years of life, I have had enough of Datin tete-a-tetes because my late Mom hung out with Datins and Royalty and enough!! I am not categorising them, merely suggesting that I prefer to spend my time doing other things. I don’t like gossip about who is having an affair or who’s on holiday where or which diamond is cut how or which bag is the latest edition. I will qualify that those are not Datins and Royalty qualities, it is women in general, in case someone decides to sue me. Heck, even Datins and Royalty are in my network marketing business consuming the products so there are quality ones around for sure.

Just this week, THREE strangers have contacted me to ask about my previous company and I had to send them right back to their own distributors because they were having problems and wanted to know from me how to use the product better. Sorry, but I cannot interfere with other distributors customers as that would not be ethical. To be a smart consumer, you should have done your own research first before blindly getting it from just anyone.
Surely the fact that I am growing tells you that there is something right to what I am doing? To be twice successful at network marketing? I watch Eric Worre every single day to check if I am missing out on anything. The Young Living support has been so much better than any other business I have delved in. I only wish I joined it sooner.
For those of you sitting on the fence, do you want more? Do you want better? Do you want to retire? Do you want a side growing income for your future that grows faster? Well, network marketing is a real option. It is not easy, but it is not that difficult either. My team of 5,000 plus in Young Living are growing and I am not the sole bread winner. Ladies are still retiring. What do you have to lose? At the very least, you become a better person from all the amazing friendships that you gain from an organisation that only empowers and leaves nobody behind.
