This morning whilst tying her hair before Mandarin classes, Tee was playing around with her name cards (little card stickers that spelt her name to be stuck onto doors or whatever). I suggested a game and asked if she could find some little words within her name T-E-S-S-A?

Excitedly, she began shifting the cards around and made:-

SAT

SET

EAT

ATE

TEA

Then she asked me what else when she got stuck. So I made:-

EAST

SEAT and

ASS to which I quickly explained that ASS was an animal like a Donkey.

She turned around and whispered to me, “Mommy? Sometimes Daddy says ASSHOLE, what is an ASSHOLE?”

The shock on my face must’ve immediately told her that something was amiss and her face turned red from a mix of guilt and curiousity.

“Don’t ever say that word, OK? It is a bad word. If Daddy says it again, let Mommy know. I don’t ever want to hear it from your mouth, OK?”

“OK, Mom…”

Now where have I hidden my cane? I need to go cane that Daddy of hers!

And no, she never went about chasing people for sales. She had a sophisticated system work for her through technology and a smartphone.

She believes that we can all have a life of our own desires to enable real contribution into the world. But first, one needs to understand what this all means.
