What a start to a Saturday morning – Grrr….

This is the plan. I am taking Tee out for the first birthday party whilst the hubs stays home to do the housework. Then I’ll bring her home for a nap and shower, after which we’ll go out for her second birthday party. And the third.

This morning, I woke up extra early at 6.30am (set the alarm! I usually only wake at 8am – muahaha!) because I knew I was going to be out all day and wanted to get some work done before I left the house. Tee, of course, had to wake up with me. Grrr……

So I woke the hubs up asking if he could just entertain her for two hours whilst I work and he could go back to sleep later after we left. He grunted and rolled out of bed, not very happily, I would imagine.

Soon after, Tee came running into the bedroom to complain that Daddy was angwy. Oh shit. Does he have to cause trouble so early in the morning? If he upsets her, then she comes running to me!!! And I need to finish my work!!! Nevertheless, I dropped everything and paid her the attention. According to her, Daddy was angwy because she had put her paintbrush in the wrong place and didn’t wash her paint palette. This is at 7.35am in the morning.

So I came out with her to pacify her and explained that Daddy was just tired and grumpy. As soon as I brought her to the kitchen, the hubs mumbled something about getting out of bed so early in the morning when he already gets out of bed so early five days a week to go to work bla bla bla…..

I lost it and told him to go straight back to bed to which his line of defense was that he was talking to Tee. Uhuh. He said he was really mad that on a school day, the little chipmunk refuses to wake up to go to school and we have to work SO hard to get her out of bed. Yet on a Saturday morning, she bounces up and starts her chain of demands at 7am. *sigh*

He is right but I’m sure my little pumpkin doesn’t know that it is Saturday. She just woke up because Mommy was out of bed. *sigh*

And that husband of mine? He is getting grumpier each day, and just as his XX birthday is coming this Monday (Guy Fawkes), we have another whole year of grumpiness to live with. GRRR………
