Mom went to the embassy to meet her and she couldn’t look my Mom in the eye, kept looking onto the ground all the time.

Fair enough, she doesn’t want to work anymore. Working life in Malaysia is too tough, she is not used to working. No wonder she couldn’t work!!! Because back home, she doesn’t work in the farm, she stays home with her parents and her Mom does all the housework and the cooking. No wonder she doesn’t know how to do anything. She didnt even want to learn. She didn’t even want to try! Or maybe she tried for a year and just couldn’t pick it up. I have still never met someone as dense, with all due respect.

Mom wanted to check her bags and she lied that she threw away all her bags already except for one. What bullshit. I just saw her carrying her knapsack which I gave her last week and it looked pretty new to me. Anyway, she brought out one bag. And what was inside? Brand new funky T-shirts that she claimed were presents from us. But when the embassy people saw the shock and horror on my Mom’s face, they immediately knew the maid was lying.

What more? Mom had found all the maid’s clothes still in her house. How come she didn’t pack herown clothes with her? They were all in good condition…..because she preferred to steal all my Mom’s clothes instead!!! And the problem is, because she didn’t show any of her other bags, we couldn’t catch her for that. But my Mom is kicking herself that she forgot to ask the maid, since she didn’t pack any of her OWN clothes along, what the hell is she going to wear??

Anyway, the embassy protects their own kind, with a bit of diplomacy here and there. I’m not sure what’s going to happen to her but Mom is out of there and maidless. And mind you, her stress levels have returned to normal, which is a damn nice feeling.
