My ambition – to write a book: Everyday with Tee
Wouldn’t that be a Best Seller??? Hehe…..
Port Klang Best Seller maybe?

Now that it has been 2 weeks since I’ve finished the easy read, Tuesdays with Morrie, I don’t feel it THAT spectacular a book. Sure, it has all the nice, heartwarming bits and reminds folks what really is important in life; I even cried in one of the earlier chapters because it tugged on a string when reminded of death and how my mother is in fact slowly but surely….dying. And then how positive she is through it all.
Being the harsh critic that I am, I felt that the book was nothing new, so it wasn’t going to score 9 out of 10 with me. It is a wonderful story told, not a new story, in a timely manner when the world is so busy chasing material goods, fame, and being a somebody. The part I liked best was a quote that said something like….A teacher does not know how far he affects. It reminded me of all my life mentors that have molded me into who I am today.
To be honest, I found it hard finishing the last few chapters because it got a bit boring and predictable. I will still maintain though that it was a wonderful story……
**************************************************************************Who is Mamapumpkin?
Mamapumpkin spent 7 years in London committing crimes to gain her Bartlett degree in Architecture. She then spent 7 years as a Stay At Home Mom raising her children as documented in this blog of over 15 years thereafter returning to the Corporate World stronger than ever as the Country Director of a British Multinational. She sets out to prove to all, that you can have anything and everything that you want; if you have that fire of desire burning within and the drive to work hard. Even better with much love.
Mamapumpkin has not only grown corporate businesses successfully in the past but has grown not one but TWO network marketing businesses in the notorious MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) industry, achieving success in under 2 years. She believes in the MLM business model but realises the DRASTIC PITFALLS and great stigma attached to it, understanding EXACTLY WHY the majority would shy away (or RUN for their lives) from ANY MLM business. But open your eyes and take time to understand it intellectually, remove your hang-ups, confirm your research, and you may just want to seize an opportunity. She did. And no, she never went about chasing people for sales. She had a sophisticated system work for her through technology and a smartphone.
She now impacts lives authentically with proven strategies amassed through the last decade of her own transformation offering online coaching programmes and always supports the underprivileged. She believes that we can all have a life of our own desires to enable real contribution into the world. But first, one needs to understand what this all means.
A beautiful life without limits.
If you wish to learn some tools to propel your life forward guaranteed, be brave enough to make contact as her life's purpose is to build people. She operates through a discovery call after which she will commit to helping you. Or not.
Most lose out on an opportunity because they are afraid they would be sold to, conned or whatever fear resides in their brain without even trying. And that's on them.
Mamapumpkin is a living testimony that women really can have a lot. Being financially and time free has enabled her to travel the world anytime, anywhere, doing anything, and she spends most of her days with her children, having fun, and supporting others wherever she can. Also having fun.

I love that book to pieces but I admit, it was more than 10 years ago (or so when it was first published) when I first read it and more than five years ago when I last read it. I guess it probably doesn’t have that impact now when we read at our stage in life (maybe) because of our experiences we have gone through. I do admit that I share Morrie’s perspective of life in many ways and some which he highlighted calls for reflection.
Do you remember him saying that the closest one human can get to another is when they have children? I thought that is really true, after having one myself.
Like you, I cried over the book when I read it. I was thinking that I should pick it up to read it again if I do come across it at some charity shop. Then again, maybe not. It might no longer have that impact.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on his book. Yours is the first ‘human’ review I have read.
Hey AM, you have a very good point. Now that you’ve mentioned it, I probably would have been more in awe of it if I’d read it younger. I remember when I was a young teenager hitting 18, the Tao of Pooh made quite a big impression on me. Because when you’re young, there is just so much you do not know.
About the closeness between parents and children, yes, I completely agree. I already felt that though, even before reading the book, and took it as a given. It is an amazing indescribable closeness, isn’t it?
Thank you for sharing YOUR thoughts on the book. A broader perspective much appreciated.
🙂
i kinda like that book, but i find “for one more day” is so much better.
try it. 😉
OK – I will go read that. Thanks for the tip. I read a little of The Five People You Meet in Heaven but felt that I may not like it so haven’t really started on that yet. Must go ask my brother if it is worth it.
hei i feel the same way too!!
not like its a bad book, but somehow or rather it fell a little short of my expectations after all the hype and the best selling lists n whatnots.
i feel that my mom’s life story would’ve inspired a better book hahaha.
Yes, I totally agree that sometimes things are overhyped and then we get an anti-climax. So when are you going to share you Mom’s life story? We can exchange!!!
If you publish a book, I’ll be the first to buy. I love your writing.
Thank you! It’s comforting to know I will have at least 1 sale!!!
