Some people I know do just that. It is an unconditional surrender to someone or some people from the ‘other’ side.
Some people, especially the wealthy, may do it because they do not have friends they can trust. It is almost like since they cannot trust anyone to be their true friend, they may as well trust a spiritual leader who will at least guide them into believing who their ‘real’ friends are.
Some people do it because they no longer have faith in themselves. Every decision they have made in life has gone wrong thus it is easier to allow someone else to make their life decisions rather than make them themselves. If anything went wrong, at least they can blame others!
Some people have had strange things (unexplainable) happen to them and this has led them to seek advice of the spiritual sort.
Recently, I reikied someone till she released some very loud outbursts. This to me was spooky because I was seated at the other end of the room and sent distant reiki to her and before I knew it, this lady was shouting and crying. Reiki must be pretty powerful stuff, huh?
I digress.
Can you imagine a life where your key decisions are based on what someone else says or orders you to do?
I might as well not live.
It makes me sad that people have to resort to this and for whatever it is worth, it is not that I do not trust the spiritual leaders, not at all. I believe in them. I just can’t fathom why any person could surrender themselves, their soul, their sense of being, their lives……..
