Of late, Tee has been asking about babies, where they come from, getting married, weddings etc – this is because there are people around us who are pregnant, who just delivered, who are about to get married etc. She picks up on our adult conversations and then asks tons of questions that many times I find difficulty in answering. So I just tell her the truth.

She understands the concept of getting married (that it must happen between a boy and a girl – no, we haven’t reached gay marriages yet), she knows what a wedding is (a party to celebrate when the bride and groom gets married), she knows why a couple gets married (when they love each other very much and want to make a baby although she thinks that by marrying, you automatically get a baby), she knows how a baby grows inside a Mother’s tummy and she knows how the baby comes out (through watching Discovery Health).

I was actually condemned for allowing her this knowledge. Some mothers told me that they find it creepy that I allow my daughter to watch Discovery Health (errr…..I watched and she watched with me, I didn’t know I wasn’t supposed to expose her to such things at such a young age, anyone???). So it leaves me something to think about tonight. I am always learning……as a first time Mom.

Because lately, she has been so obsessed about this whole birds and the bees thing that she wanted to be a bride the other day and I allowed her to play with my wedding veil. She is a vain little princess, she had loads of vain moments in front of the mirror. And she says she wants to marry her Daddy.

To me, it’s all fun and innocence. Yet for some reason, some people think I am warped and twisted.

Well, what am I supposed to tell her? That the stork brought her in one day?
