Today, Tee and I had fun making our own Bingo game and had even more fun playing Bingo.

How to make Baby Bingo – lots of cardboard, colour pencils and scissors. Make 2 base cards or however many, depending on however many players want to play. Divide it into written numbers. For younger children, up to number 5 or 10, for older children up to 50. We did up to 20. She can count to 30 (missing 16-19) but Mummy was too lazy to make SO many Bingo cards so 20 was sufficient. Then make even more numbers on cardboard and cut out to match the Bingo base cards.

There are several ways to play the game but the objective of the game is to cover your base card completely and whoever covers it with individual cards first wins.

Bingo 1 – A Bingo Master will pick a card and call out the number. Players will quickly check their base card if they have the number or not. If they do, the first one who shouts BINGO gets to keep the card and cover his base card. Keep going till the first person completely covers his base card. For us, whenever Tee completely covered her base card, she would jump up and shout “Bingo, Bingo, Bingo!!!” to confirm her win and then I would shake her hand and congratulate her (so she learnt the word, congratulations) and then she takes a bow and we clap. 🙂

Bingo 2 – Put the little numbered cards into a plastic bag and each player takes turns to pick out a card. If they have the same number on their base card, they keep the number and cover their base card. If they don’t have the number, they have to put the card back and it’s the next player’s turn. Keep going till the first person finishes covering their base card. The first person to finish covering their base card completely gets to shout BINGO!

Bingo 3 – just play however you like and have fun! It teaches kids how to recognise numbers and match them as well. Plus they get to shout BINGO. Now, how can that NOT be fun!!!?
