It is Saturday and the Hubs usually takes over some of my Mummy duties, thank God! So the greatest thing happened to me this morning…..

After a good night’s rest (since I was allowed a lie-in), I crawled out of bed in search of my little pumpkin. I heard her little voice talking about posting mail. I opened my bedroom door quietly to observe more and I see Tee with her headband on and little knickers, busy playing with her postbox which we made together from a very large shoe box. Her movements are so expressive, she is always on the go. And always chatting…..

Then in her active play, she noticed something as I knelt down. Wait. Is that Mummy?

She glanced back again.

“IT’S MUMMY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

“Mummy wake up!” she screamed in delight.

In an instant, she dropped all the mail she had in her hands as though they were creepy spiders, and RAN…………………I mean, RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNN………..towards me smiling with glee, chuckling along the way. The whole run was 20 metres so you can imagine the run up to my climax. The back of my mind was repeating silently, don’t trip sweetie, don’t trip sweetie, don’t trip sweetie. And she didn’t.

“Good Morning, Mummy!!!” Tee flung her chubby arms around my neck. We kissed. We embraced. We kissed more. I carried her and walked towards the Hubs whom I was sure was just a tad jealous, if not fuming with envious rage. And Tee and I begin our morning conversation. What an amazingly awesome way to start a day!

THAT made all this hard stay-at-home-mom work worth it.

So as I lie here to type this, the Hubs moans that what HE gets in the morning is,

“Daddy, wake up!” when Tee rolls out of bed to shake him for her morning milk.

“Daddy, make hot milk” (it’s his morning duty)

“Daddy, WAKE UP!!” she shakes him more. And the Hubs says that’s the good part.

Then she actually starts hitting his head with her baby bolster.

“DADDY, WAKE UP!!! MAKE TESSA HOT MILK!!!”
