Tee’s pronounciation

Just after Tee started talking at seventeen months, her vocabulary hopped onto the speeding train after she hit nineteen months and then the bullet train at twenty two months. After knowing that she knew five hundred words, I didn’t bother counting after.

You know how in those baby books, just to check if your toddler is developing right, you check if they are doing whatever they’re supposed to be doing at that particular age? I stopped checking too after her second birthday. They get more active and tiring after their second birthday, that’s why!

But the one word she could never pronounce for the longest time was umbrella. She would say ‘umbayaya’ – too cute!

And yet now, when I thought she’s doing really well in her English with correct tenses most of the time and an amazing vocabulary, she pronounces hospital as ‘hotipal’ as in ‘hottie pearl’ – too funny! No matter how much we correct her, she can’t get it right. *smile*
