In the year 2022, we intend to send T1 to boarding school in England so she can take her IB or A-Levels (though, probably IB even though I did the A-Levels) and that gives us exactly 10 years more or less, to start saving up money for that purpose. The fees right now are equivalent to University fees when I was in the UK, which was about 15 thousand pounds then. But when the time comes, I won’t be surprised that it goes up to a total of 40 thousand pounds which is really what we should be budgeting for, inclusive of school fees and boarding.

It’s really not cheap having kids, huh? But I think a good education is so important and if all goes well, we would really like our girls to attend Preparatory School in England because it will give them a solid international education and open their eyes to the world. Of course, I shall accompany them there. Do you think I’d leave them to their devices? After what I went through as a student? No, we live and learn. I’ll be there to be their best friend, chef and agony aunt; shopping partner and disciplinarian. Perhaps we should move to the UK instead of down south!

Now, the question is, how do we save up RM2 million purely for the higher education of both our girls??? We have 10-15 years to do this, do you think it is possible if we were starting from scratch? I absolutely do! No more shopping!!!
