When the Hubs was unemployed, he received many offers from other architectural firms in the market but unfortunately, local architectural firms here pay pittance and there are hardly any more foreign firms in town. His firm was practically the last one standing and they had the highest paid employees. Perhaps that is why they ran out of money after the Middle Easterners stopped paying. They are really unscrupulous, some of these Middle Eastern clients. However, it is through a recruitment agency that found him his current job.
Now that he is gainfully employed, he needs to go through a recruitment exercise for his own team and I’ve advised him that the best way to find the right staff would be to go through the recruitment agencies again or he’d be wasting precious time with countless interviews meeting mismatched candidates. What you see on a resume is not what you necessarily want, as we have both learned from being bosses, as although someone may have a flying resume, his personality and how he carries himself, and many other factors are also taken into account and could be very wrong for the type of candidate one is looking for!
I always find that word of mouth and going through good recruitment agencies is always the best way to go when hiring potential staff for a successful business.
