The Hubs and I are planning to watch a movie soon as I got a free movie ticket from Times Book Store the other day at Pavillion. We watch movies at the cinema less than a handful of times annually. *sigh* Furthermore, we can never agree on what to watch as we have completely different interests. He likes sci-fi and action, I like chick flicks and dramas. OK, I like thrillers too. I’m not that bad. And I’m sure the Hubs loves romance – he just won’t admit it. *snigger*

When I first heard of Penelope, the movie, I immediately liked the sound of it. A girl’s name……a movie about a girl, just my kind of show. Then I saw the movie poster and wondered why Penelope had half her face covered with her scarf. Very strange. Was it that cold? Then I watched the trailer and burst out laughing when Penelope’s nose revealed itself to be a pig’s snout! OK, I really shouldn’t be laughing but because I did, I know now that I definitely want to go to watch Penelope when it hits the cinemas!

Penelope is about a rich girl with an ugly nose whose parents have kept her at home for the longest time due to a family curse. But in order to break the family curse, Penelope has to fall in love, except that all the men who show up to woo her are only after her for her money. The trailers are hilarious and witty, and the movie has oscar academy winner, Reese Witherspoon! Combined with Richard E. Grant and Christina Ricci, I’m sure Penelope is a movie right up my alley.

The Hubs is just going to have to bare with this. Well, it IS a comedy! So he shouldn’t be complaining too much. *smile*
