My kind of friends….

Since Tee started playschool, I have actually some time on my hands to make a few phone calls to old friends whom I have not seen since Tee was born, and time to actually meet them. I don’t know about other Moms but when Tee is within the same space as me, making even a 1 minutes phone call is like calling long distance to Uzbekhistan. Bloody impossible, irritating and a waste of time.

Last night, I spent 3 hours with an old friend from College. Fatty (he isn’t fat but I nicknamed him such 20 years ago and the name has stuck) was a damn good friend at college. He’d be the one who’d fill my glass when it got half empty. He was the one who protected me from negative forces. His soul would beam whenever I had successes in life and he would tell me his honest to God opinion. Even that my cellulite looked really gross. I appreciated that. Honesty.

Not having seen him for 3 years, with hardly so much contact as an annual text message just to touch base, it was really good to finally have caught up with him. We lead such different lives now. I’ve had a kid and become a stay-at-home-mom. He’s had a heart attack and told he only has 15 years more to go, if he doesn’t get another heart attack before that. We’ve shared the highs, we’ve done the lows. We’ve traversed rainbows and slums and everything else in between. Yet when we met, nothing had changed. We still understood each other. Our cores were strong. We still stood for whatever we believed in as foolish, monkeying teenagers at 15.

With some people, you just have a ‘connection’. There is a certain level of understanding that cannot be explained. I may not see Fatty for another year or two, but the satisfaction of knowing that there really is someone out there looking after my very best interest at heart is extremely comforting. In the meantime, I will be praying for his recovery and journey towards a healthier lifestyle. And RM140,000 for stem cell surgery to help his heart condition since he only has half a heart left that actually works.

This morning I met another friend whom I hadn’t seen since my baby shower (I was 7 months preggers). Han hasn’t changed physically but I was a lot smaller since I was 7 months pregnant! Again, practically no contact for 3 years yet, just like old times. The bond, the sharing, the ‘our moms are crazy’ gripes, our new kids, parenthood, our other halves….Hardly any contact but still, I felt the love. The love of a friend for another. A true kind of love. No jealousy. No competition. No comparisons. No negativity. Complete trust. Honey, we’ve reached home…..

Friendships like these. I treasure. For life.

Those of you out there. You know who you are.

I treasure you. For life.

Who is Mamapumpkin?
Mamapumpkin spent 7 years in London committing crimes to gain her Bartlett degree in Architecture. She then spent 7 years as a Stay At Home Mom raising her children as documented in this blog of over 15 years thereafter returning to the Corporate World stronger than ever as the Country Director of a British Multinational. She sets out to prove to all, that you can have anything and everything that you want; if you have that fire of desire burning within and the drive to work hard. Even better with much love.

Mamapumpkin has not only grown corporate businesses successfully in the past but has grown not one but TWO network marketing businesses in the notorious MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) industry, achieving success in under 2 years. She believes in the MLM business model but realises the DRASTIC PITFALLS and great stigma attached to it, understanding EXACTLY WHY the majority would shy away (or RUN for their lives) from ANY MLM business. But open your eyes and take time to understand it intellectually, remove your hang-ups, confirm your research, and you may just want to seize an opportunity. She did. And no, she never went about chasing people for sales. She had a sophisticated system work for her through technology and a smartphone.

She now impacts lives authentically with proven strategies amassed through the last decade of her own transformation offering online coaching programmes and always supports the underprivileged. She believes that we can all have a life of our own desires to enable real contribution into the world. But first, one needs to understand what this all means.

A beautiful life without limits.

If you wish to learn some tools to propel your life forward guaranteed, be brave enough to make contact as her life's purpose is to build people. She operates through a discovery call after which she will commit to helping you. Or not.

Most lose out on an opportunity because they are afraid they would be sold to, conned or whatever fear resides in their brain without even trying. And that's on them.

Mamapumpkin is a living testimony that women really can have a lot. Being financially and time free has enabled her to travel the world anytime, anywhere, doing anything, and she spends most of her days with her children, having fun, and supporting others wherever she can. Also having fun.
Show your support and spread the love!

  2. Very heartwarming and yes, totally agree how you can connect to some people and also about making phone call with a toddler around! You are lucky your child is in playgroup. 🙂 I’m looking forward to my breather. 🙂
