I love my country, don’t get me wrong. We have the best food, the best beaches, the best people (ahem)………..heck, what more would you need?! But something niggles at me all the time.

It’s the fact that a certain race, only that race, within the country have added benefits in living here, OUR country, such as discounts in getting bank loans, discounts in purchasing property, added interest rates in saving accounts……….whilst the rest of the other races lack this, err…..benefit. I don’t slide them as it isn’t their fault that they get such benefits…….

A friend of mine, who is of that particular race, has two bank accounts with RM200,000 each. The annual interest she gets on that sum is equivalent to RM60,000 per year. Or more. She could live on purely the interest alone.

Me, on the other hand, not that I even have RM400,000, but should I one day, would only stand to earn an interest of a measly 3.5% if I put it into a fixed deposit account. That’s RM14,000 per annum.

I kid you not, ladies and gentlemen.

Mamapumpkin spent 7 years in London committing crimes to gain her Bartlett degree in Architecture.
