If you haven’t yet heard, one fine day after a smashing brunch with my girlfriends on a complete high, I flew off step and landed on the side of my left foot but THANKFULLY, I caught on to my big friend or my entire elephant weight could have caused a dent on the concrete floor of BIRCH at DC Mall! That step seriously needs some highlighting yo….so many people have fallen off it.
It was PAIN LIKE FISH and I’d never experienced such PAIN before but I put on a brave face and told everyone I was alright. We even hobbled along to take more photos being the vain bitches that we are. Yeah, really.
And then after that, I hobbled much further to meet more ladies for lunch! I even remember drizzling some oils onto my very painful bruised foot and even massaged it gently. Oh goodness, it was PAINFUL!!!!!
Lunch ended about 3pm and I hobbled over to Starbucks for some junk for my kids and then hobbled in excruciating pain to the other end of DC Mall only to learn that I’d gotten the wrong end of the mall so hobbled back I did.
Honestly, I have no idea how I managed the pain in all that hobbling. It was extremely slow hobbling that I can guarantee!
When I got home, I iced the foot for an hour and applied some oils onto the foot. As night came, the foot wasn’t getting any less painful and it was swollen as hell. A feather touch was extremely painful and a friend suggested that I could have a hairline fracture and perhaps a good idea to get an X-Ray. Gosh! What’s a hairline fracture??? I hadn’t even imagined that I could get a hairline fracture so I decided that after my online training, I’d get myself to the hospital for an X-Ray.
That was 8.30pm and as soon as the hubs arrived home, he dragged my sorry ass straight to the hospital forcing me to cancel my online training and THERE, my entire world crumbled.
The Doctor said this wasn’t a hairline fracture but a full blown fracture. I was due to travel to Singapore in 4 days, could I still make it? I had a celebration party the next day, a full day of NLP Training the next day and an event that same evening and a full Sunday all planned before I took that flight.
The Doctor shook her head and told me to wait as they prepared my cast. Oh my God. This isn’t happening….were my thoughts!!!
I went home that night with the heaviest heart when the Doctor told me that it would take at least 6-8 weeks of staying at home and doing nothing with my feet
