Lion Dance at Pavilion 2011

To watch more lion dances this 2011, go to Lion Dances in KL for 2011.

Yesterday, we spent 8 hours at the most happening mall in KL – Pavilion. The sole purpose of our trip was for the girls to watch the lion dance but we ended up shopping, shopping, shopping. Bah. Next time, we should leave both our cash and credit cards behind!

Our prime spot to watch the lion dance at Level 1 above right in front of the stage.

.

.

The beautiful red lanterns that hung down…..

.

.

The lion dance troupe having their last rehearsal recount

.

.

We were there early but already people were waiting all along the steps

.

.

View of the podium from above

.

.

The lion dance began……and baby got terrified even though she was so far away! So Mommy quickly carried her tight.

.

.

But she didn’t want Mommy! She wanted Daddy!!! What is it with little girls? Is it because Daddy makes them feel more safe?

.

.

The lion dance was quite slow moving

.

.

A very safe performance, unlike some I’ve witnessed

.

.

But the nice thing was the lions came to the people to greet them and give them oranges to welcome in the new Rabbit Year

.

.

People were scampering to touch the lion

.

.

Foreigners were excitedly taking photos of themselves with the lion…..

.

.

The main entrance display of lions

.

.

Four huge drums to beat to usher in good luck for the new year

.

.

T1 and her favourite lion – GREEN!

.

.

Mommy and T1 with the huge ??? pink ball??

.

.

We had lunch at the food court. T1 had porridge….

.

.

I had this tofu wok dish – pretty good that wok place

.

.

T2 had chicken rice

.

.

There was also a drum performance later

.

.

Boom-Boom-Boom!!!

.

.

If you looked up, you’d see these MASSIVE lanterns that don’t look so big here but trust me, they are massive!

.

.

Mommy then went shopping whilst the kids were dumped at the play area in Parkson Level 6 – yes, did you know they have a play area at the Pavilion??? If you want to shop in peace, get your husbands to go there with the kids and you can have a few hours of a wonderful shopping experience

.

.

Of course, the play area is also on the same level as the ToysRus – that’s the whole idea! Get your kids to want to buy!

.

.

Pity this picture is blur, my little cutie…..

.

.

Trying to figure out how she’s going to get onto the swing…..

.

.

Oops. I think that’s a poop! Sorry, T2…..

.

.

We explored the grounds…..

.

.

And had tea at The Coffee Bean indoors (there is also one outdoors) and gosh, we wiped out all that cake! Bad, bad, bad!

.

.

Later, T2 complained she didn’t like her gold shoes anymore……

.

.

So we brought her shopping for new ones and she refused to be held. Wanted to walk alone like an adult to choose her own shoes.

.

.

Calling out to her Daddy and Che-Che who had walked much faster……darn cute

.

.

After buying her new shoes, see? Happy already. She is such a shopaholic, this girl. Every time we enter a mall, she’d grab a bag she likes and starts carrying it everywhere and refuses to let go. Sometimes, she’d pick up little accessories and refuse to let go. We usually end up buying them too because the screams that come along are too painful *rolls eyeballs*

Ahhhh…..these kids are too spoilt.

If you’re interested, go to The Pavilion today (Sunday) for another lion dance performance at 1pm. You really have to be there to capture the atmosphere. Brilliant!

And no, she never went about chasing people for sales. She had a sophisticated system work for her through technology and a smartphone.

She now impacts lives authentically with proven strategies amassed through the last decade of her own transformation offering online coaching programmes and always supports the underprivileged. She believes that we can all have a life of our own desires to enable real contribution into the world. But first, one needs to understand what this all means.
