Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) Malaysia – that’s the National Heart Institute in Malaysia at Jalan Tun Razak, for your information. I am a patient of IJN.
I never in my life imagined that I would ever have had to enter that spectacle of a building known as Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) Malaysia standing grand as all other spectacles on Jalan Tun Razak. It was for old people. It was for serious heart patients. It was for Tun Dr Mahathir, for goodness sake. I was fit and healthy and even if I was sick, our usual port of call was Pantai Medical Centre just 5 minutes away. So when I first had to go to the Institut Jantung Negara (IJN), I had to think twice about how to get there, look it up the map in case I had to rush there, and ask them how it all worked. RM500 deposit for all patients to be topped up as and when. OKAYYYYYYYYYYY. Without insurance, that’s real fun.
My first visit to Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) Malaysia last year was impressive. I valet parked because I was not familiar with the building and it was HUGE. My first impression as I stepped into the grand entrance lobby was fuck, how many hundreds of thousands did they spend on the paintings on glass art work on the walls and ceilings? We hired a glass painter previously to do a 6 x 3 foot painting for one of the biggest insurance offices in town and that alone cost tens of thousands. The one at IJN was hmmm…..only about 20-30 times larger? OK, to be fair, the artist might have done it for free. Who knows right? Maybe someone’s nephew or something. Never judge.
Anyway to cut a long story short, I had to go at 7.30am last week to Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) Malaysia for my full medical again. Cost me just under RM1,000 but get this, the Doctor’s fee was only RM60 out of that. Bless her indeed. I love that woman. I really chose well.
It turns out that I don’t just have an aortal valve regurgitation but a mitral valve regurgitation as well. That’s two different valves leaking. OKAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. After seeing 4 different cardiologists, it has come to this. I am so afraid that if I were to go to Singapore, they’d tell me something entirely different!!! Some of my friends say that the Doctors in Singapore are much better, Malaysians moved to Singapore. But I like my Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) Malaysia Doctor. She’s a girl and she’s from London.
The amazing thing about Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) Malaysia is that they have the latest technology and the latest gizmos. Their machines are just out of this world. NO WONDER the cardiologists at the other hospitals didn’t detect the Mitral leak as well. Cannot see with the old machines!!! Seriously!!! With the Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) Malaysia machines, the echocardiogram was literally a laser knife cutting into my heart and you could see a blown up clear picture of my freaking aorta, OK???
Like fuckkkkk!!!! How the hell do they do that???
SO FREAKING AWESOME!!!!
And the difference is that at Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) Malaysia, they have trained machine technicians to do all this machine manipulation whilst at Pantai and Gleneagles, the individual Doctors actually do it themselves. I had a chat with the machine girl and asked her what qualifications she needed to be able to operate this super cool machine. Diploma in Nursing, Medical Technician or Biomedical Degree, none of which made any sense to me but she sure looked like she knew what she was doing. It was a fascinating experience.
The good news is that I still do not have to operate just yet.
PHEW!!!!! THANK YOU, GOD!!!
But I still have to monitor it regularly and this will continue for the rest of my life. Let’s just calculate how much I would need on these routine check ups alone for the next 40 years assuming I can live till my 80s, not taking the surgery cost into consideration. Terrifying.
The Doctor wants me to lose weight. Yikes. She was quite serious. Although valve function has nothing to do with diet and lifestyle, for my own good, she needs me to lose weight. Yes, Doc. I hear you. Valve function is actually a mechanical failure of the heart, interesting huh? Cutting out all the fatty food in the world is not going to make a difference but if you eat it, then of course, you could start being at risk for a heart attack.
I told her about my tiredness attacks becoming virtually non-existent ever since I started taking Izumio Hydrogen Water and she said good. Continue taking it. She said that they even had Hydrogen and Oxygen supply and water at the Hospital. Really??? She seemed pretty switched on anyway.
So no surgery. Alhamdullilah.
More time to make money for that heart op.
**************************************************************************Who is Mamapumpkin?
Mamapumpkin spent 7 years in London committing crimes to gain her Bartlett degree in Architecture. She then spent 7 years as a Stay At Home Mom raising her children as documented in this blog of over 15 years thereafter returning to the Corporate World stronger than ever as the Country Director of a British Multinational. She sets out to prove to all, that you can have anything and everything that you want; if you have that fire of desire burning within and the drive to work hard. Even better with much love.
Mamapumpkin has not only grown corporate businesses successfully in the past but has grown not one but TWO network marketing businesses in the notorious MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) industry, achieving success in under 2 years. She believes in the MLM business model but realises the DRASTIC PITFALLS and great stigma attached to it, understanding EXACTLY WHY the majority would shy away (or RUN for their lives) from ANY MLM business. But open your eyes and take time to understand it intellectually, remove your hang-ups, confirm your research, and you may just want to seize an opportunity. She did. And no, she never went about chasing people for sales. She had a sophisticated system work for her through technology and a smartphone.
She now impacts lives authentically with proven strategies amassed through the last decade of her own transformation offering online coaching programmes and always supports the underprivileged. She believes that we can all have a life of our own desires to enable real contribution into the world. But first, one needs to understand what this all means.
A beautiful life without limits.
If you wish to learn some tools to propel your life forward guaranteed, be brave enough to make contact as her life's purpose is to build people. She operates through a discovery call after which she will commit to helping you. Or not.
Most lose out on an opportunity because they are afraid they would be sold to, conned or whatever fear resides in their brain without even trying. And that's on them.
Mamapumpkin is a living testimony that women really can have a lot. Being financially and time free has enabled her to travel the world anytime, anywhere, doing anything, and she spends most of her days with her children, having fun, and supporting others wherever she can. Also having fun.

You are one brave woman to be able to write about this openly. May God give you strength to do what is needed so that surgery is not required at all.
Hi Patsy, thank you for putting up this post. I was just wondering on what sort of symptoms that you have had that led you to seek out the professionals other than tiredness attacks. Did you have pains in your chest? If yes, left side or right side?
Thanks again.

Kim
