There’s been lots of talk about me of late about this that and the other. Not all is bad, mostly good but it is what it is. I have never succumbed to what others think if negative, instead I welcome it because it is my chance to get better if it is constructive criticism. Of course, if it is just mundane bitching then chis, don’t waste my time! *rolls eyeballs*
Today, someone said I was too quick. My brain works at Shinkansen speed and I expect everyone to be the same but actually it isn’t true. My brain isn’t at Shinkansen speed albeit it may be faster than some and slower than others, and I certainly do not expect anyone to be as fast as I am.
What I do see though is a pattern of non-performance. It is a Malaysian thing!
I always think to myself, well, that’s why you aren’t where you should be, because you haven’t done your homework. I think of how easy it is to be successful if only people would give themselves the chance, the power, to JUST. DO. IT.
It is really not rocket science. Tons and tons of people have done it yet for so many it is a real challenge! All they really need to do is to follow, practise, ask and just do. Keep repeating and keep improving till they see results. Right? Simple! It really is.
It is exactly what I have done. I have the grit to find out, to search, to invest my time into learning, to do WHATEVER it takes until I get to have my questions answered. Why is it that most people don’t have this persistence? This desire? I am always the star employee from every single job that I have been employed at because I get things done at rocket speed. No matter what, I would find out and still get it done. No excuses.
But after working with over 10,000 people over the years, our human resource in Malaysia is sadly lacking. People are lazy and they are low in self esteem. They just don’t know how. But heck, ask! They don’t even ask because they are afraid of bothering you! How then? Sigh. I want to help so many people but I am so drained because so many are non-performers. I don’t want them to perform for me or others either. I want them to perform for them!!
I am already up here and I could drop out if I wanted to. In fact, I was offered some new projects recently which I am keen on taking up because I am so tired of showing people that they can live a better life. I can only help so much. At some point, people need to start helping themselves.
I wish I had a mentor……blueghhh.
