I’m 200% sure that 90% of Moms are too. Except for the uninvolved ones. Those who leave everything and I mean, EVERYTHING, to somebody else. Anyway, my point is, I am so busy to the point where sometimes, I just don’t answer my phone. I could be out all day and not hear the phone or have my hands full. I could be with someone having a conversation. I could be driving. I could be busy washing a raw fish. I could be doing so many things that disables me from picking up the phone.
Many a time, I find myself carrying Tee, her bag, my bag and then the car keys with another hand; when the BLASTED phone rings. Do you think I am crazy enough to answer it? Then I have to secure her into her car seat, place the bags, drive. As soon as we get home, I have to prepare lunch, eat, wash the dishes. Then I have to bath her and put her to bed. By then, the inclination to even reach out for the phone to see who called has diminished. What more, I have other things to do. Like prepare dinner before Tee wakes up. If I were to call back every single person that’s called, honey, nothing’d get done. And please, if you are fortunate enough to catch me, please speak quickly.
