How to make a paper mache vase:

This is certainly one skill where T1 beats me head on because quite simply, I have not done paper mache in my entire life. I know how to do it theoretically, just haven’t done it! Last year when T1 spent every weekend at her Nana’s, she’d make something for me all the time.

And…..she’s also made me a sunflower, some paper roses, a beautiful card which had pressed flower petals and her photo in it…..oh, she’s made me so much stuff, I cannot even remember now.

Coming back to how to make a paper mache vase:

You can use a small jar or a balloon as an internal base of which you just start pasting layers and layers of starched newspaper or magazine paper or even mahjong paper, or a combination of either. White paper at the end of course, will be easier to paint. After forming the shape you want, let it dry. Pull out jar or burst balloon. Paint. Simple?
