As you may or may not know, we spent Christmas in a hospital this year and what I learned was that during the festive season, the hospital and doctors charge you the festive rate! So they have something to be festive about. Not us, when us, the patients, should really be the ones having real reason to be cheered up. But you see, nobody wants to work during the festive season…..so for that they charge you exorbitant rates.
Thus I was glad to see in The Star that the Health Ministry is looking into hospitals charging excessively unnecessarily but let us hope it’s for real and not just talk as many of the things the Government do is just talk.
Like for example, I was told that clothing taxes were supposed to be waived in order to make Malaysia a more shopping friendly country? Bollocks. The Gaps and The Guesses are still very expensive because the Government is still imposing duties on them one way or another. They may change the title of it, like maybe they waive the taxes but they impose let’s say…..an administrative fee? It’s all just rubbish.
And how many of you out there got suckered into the G search for your kid? Do you have any idea how much sales G made from this exercise? For those of you not in the know, you actually have to PAY/PURCHASE a certain amount of clothing before your kid can get photographed in order to qualify for the search. This is marketing. Great marketing. So, take a guess then…..how much turnover do you think a G store makes in a month?
