Homeschooling in Malaysia

In the past, when I was at school, there was never such a thing as homeschooling but of late, with the state of our declining education system, I’m hearing more and more about homeschooling in Malaysia. When I did some research on it, I discovered that it is a concept that has been practiced in other parts of the world for ages! I actually know quite a few people now who homeschool their children and find that so far, they are not only better educated but better mannered than the majority of school going children.

Why do people homeschool? There are many benefits including personal one on one attention to your child, flexi-time, a better quality education since nobody cares more about your own children than you do plus you can choose your own curriculum, and the fact that students can develop at their own pace without pressure. The disadvantage? I suppose children will lack practice with their social skills but not necessarily so if parents supplement their childrens’ activities with other children on a regular basis.

If you are lost as to how to homeschool your own children, you can always do a search for a curriculum online and take it from there.

Happy homeschooling!

Mamapumpkin spent 7 years in London committing crimes to gain her Bartlett degree in Architecture. She then spent 7 years as a Stay At Home Mom raising her children as documented in this blog of over 15 years thereafter returning to the Corporate World stronger than ever as the Country Director of a British Multinational. She sets out to prove to all, that you can have anything and everything that you want; if you have that fire of desire burning within and the drive to work hard. Even better with much love.

Mamapumpkin has not only grown corporate businesses successfully in the past but has grown not one but TWO network marketing businesses in the notorious MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) industry, achieving success in under 2 years. She believes in the MLM business model but realises the DRASTIC PITFALLS and great stigma attached to it, understanding EXACTLY WHY the majority would shy away (or RUN for their lives) from ANY MLM business. But open your eyes and take time to understand it intellectually, remove your hang-ups, confirm your research, and you may just want to seize an opportunity. She did. And no, she never went about chasing people for sales. She had a sophisticated system work for her through technology and a smartphone.

She now impacts lives authentically with proven strategies amassed through the last decade of her own transformation offering online coaching programmes and always supports the underprivileged. She believes that we can all have a life of our own desires to enable real contribution into the world. But first, one needs to understand what this all means.

A beautiful life without limits.

If you wish to learn some tools to propel your life forward guaranteed, be brave enough to make contact as her life's purpose is to build people. She operates through a discovery call after which she will commit to helping you. Or not.

Most lose out on an opportunity because they are afraid they would be sold to, conned or whatever fear resides in their brain without even trying. And that's on them.

Mamapumpkin is a living testimony that women really can have a lot. Being financially and time free has enabled her to travel the world anytime, anywhere, doing anything, and she spends most of her days with her children, having fun, and supporting others wherever she can. Also having fun.
Show your support and spread the love!

  1. Thank you for this timely post! I am at wits’ end on how to talk to my girl to go to school(kindie)! She had a trial class in November last year, but the next day, she refused to go to school anymore. well, I had sent her for a trial class before she was driving me and her Daddy crazy everyday bugging her to send her to school.

Anyways, homeschooling had come to my mind on many occasions but the thing is I just don’t have the patience of a teacher/educator. Definitely not an early childhood educator.

  2. Mel has been in a homeschooling program since the beginning of last year after she completed her first 6 years of education in a private school. For the first time, I don’t have to nag her about her studies, as she absolutely loves the homeschool methods. Homeschool really is the way to go!!

  3. Nice post. I can’t go through the entire thing now, but it seems good and i’ll come back to this page when i’m at home. looking forward to it!
