I’m 80% sure that by the end of this year, I’ll be filling in forms to hire a helper for the Lee Household. I’ve taken care of Tee single-handedly for a whole four years and feel that it is time. Despite the Hubs’s severe need for privacy around the home and despite his ache in his heart for the spark that will burn a hole in his wallet, I think I’ve done enough to deserve some help.
Besides, Tee has been harping on about why we can’t have someone else around so Mommy can spend more time with her…….
So, tell me those of you with helpers (aka maids), am I doing the right thing? Do you think I’m likely to kill a helper who lives with us? Or are my management skills good enough to manage another person in this household? I have never, ever had a helper and this is a very scary move for me.
I’m tired of being always tired. I’m tired of cooking, or not being able to cook when I’m too tired. I’m tired of the lack of progress in this household i.e. things that need to be done, never get done.
So, yeah……we’re going to seriously think about getting one.
**************************************************************************Who is Mamapumpkin?
Mamapumpkin spent 7 years in London committing crimes to gain her Bartlett degree in Architecture. She then spent 7 years as a Stay At Home Mom raising her children as documented in this blog of over 15 years thereafter returning to the Corporate World stronger than ever as the Country Director of a British Multinational. She sets out to prove to all, that you can have anything and everything that you want; if you have that fire of desire burning within and the drive to work hard. Even better with much love.
Mamapumpkin has not only grown corporate businesses successfully in the past but has grown not one but TWO network marketing businesses in the notorious MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) industry, achieving success in under 2 years. She believes in the MLM business model but realises the DRASTIC PITFALLS and great stigma attached to it, understanding EXACTLY WHY the majority would shy away (or RUN for their lives) from ANY MLM business. But open your eyes and take time to understand it intellectually, remove your hang-ups, confirm your research, and you may just want to seize an opportunity. She did. And no, she never went about chasing people for sales. She had a sophisticated system work for her through technology and a smartphone.
She now impacts lives authentically with proven strategies amassed through the last decade of her own transformation offering online coaching programmes and always supports the underprivileged. She believes that we can all have a life of our own desires to enable real contribution into the world. But first, one needs to understand what this all means.
A beautiful life without limits.
If you wish to learn some tools to propel your life forward guaranteed, be brave enough to make contact as her life's purpose is to build people. She operates through a discovery call after which she will commit to helping you. Or not.
Most lose out on an opportunity because they are afraid they would be sold to, conned or whatever fear resides in their brain without even trying. And that's on them.
Mamapumpkin is a living testimony that women really can have a lot. Being financially and time free has enabled her to travel the world anytime, anywhere, doing anything, and she spends most of her days with her children, having fun, and supporting others wherever she can. Also having fun.

i hv read many maid stories and realised that many complaint comes from maid that has to do EVERYTHING including taking care of their employee’s children.
they are just a helper, not someone who will take over house-minding and child-minding. (if there are such a word! hehe)
for instance, mumsgather. she don’t let her maid “touch” her children like feeding, bathing, putting them to bed etc.. her maid only do the house chores and help her prepare ingredients for her to cook and the maid does the cleaning up.
well, this only applies to SAHM. 😉
well, if you worry about having a live-in maid, maybe you can hire someone to come-in once a week to do the cleaning and laundry? or a few times a week just to try it out first? that’s what my mom and my sister do but of course, they don’t have kids yet. =)
Okay…I am kinda spoilt …so a maid is definitely a necessity. I hate mopping. I hate ironing. I hate cleaning up. I don’t the occasional cooking but NOT everyday. I would be very very moody if I have to do housework, look after the kids, ferry them to their activity etc. Actually, moody would not be the word…expect and INCREDIBLE HULK in the house. Hahahha.
Although having to manage a maid may be a pain a times, it certainly frees up alot of “quality” time allowing you to do more of the things you wanna do. And still be able to come home to a clean house, have clean clothes and a hot meal.
As for privacy issues…you can lay out certain ground rules/ schedules etc for the maid…. My maid is quite “sik chou” in the sense that she would not intrude into our space to clean or whatever when we are around.
Whether u r doing the right thing will depend on getting a good reliable helper. Otherwise, it will be more stressful with a nightmare one. My agent told me the ones we r getting here are the rejected ones. So it all depends on your luck.
Mine will be completing her 5th year by Feb & starting her 6th year with me. Trying to keep her a long as I can & therefore I’m very lenient with her (she gets off once a month where she goes to Puchong by bus on a Sat afternoon & returns Sun evening the nx day, has her own hp, I too do the dishes, make my own bed, vaccuum as my hse is quite big for 1 maid to handle).
So pray hard that you get a good one too!
