Our trip to Yangon last November was really a mission of answering to a call of help. There was no time for sight seeing or relaxation as most holidays would include, just pure hard work, as T1 learnt very quickly.

On Day One, we had gone shopping to buy the orphanages the dry goods (which is where we experienced a supermarket blackout!) and on this same day, we had to carry all the dry goods into storage at the hotel.

On Day Two, we had to transport all the boxes of clothes from Malaysia and the groceries from storage at the hotel down and into the truck.

T1 played her part. These boxes weighed between 10-17 kg each (I know because I had to weigh them all in order to meet Air Asia’s maximum weight requirements) filled with clothes and some with books and stationery.

By the time she carried the boxes from our bedroom (no lifts, it was a 2 storey hotel) to the lobby, the hotel staff were there ready to help her.

Next up, carrying groceries one by one from the hotel store room to the hotel lobby for loading into the truck.

Tadaaaa!!! We did it!!! There was also Aunty Lyn of course helping build her muscles and hotel staff along the way. A great workout before a long day. To all of you who made time and effort to donate supplies and cash, below forms some of the stash that we brought to the homes. Along the way, we also bought bags and bags of rice.

And our first sight of the truck was, wow, it’s big and we have to climb it!

Quickly loading up the truck with our goods……the person who brought us to the orphanages was a bloke called Sam who is with Friends of the Children of Myanmar.

T1 got hauled up to help shift the goods around so we could actually have space to sit.

And off we went on our journey to meet the Children of Myanmar for the first time in our lives………with the look and a heart of determination.

And then suddenly, ouch, my hands actually hurt from all that carrying!

I’m so proud of my T1.

She now impacts lives authentically with proven strategies amassed through the last decade of her own transformation offering online coaching programmes and always supports the underprivileged. She believes that we can all have a life of our own desires to enable real contribution into the world. But first, one needs to understand what this all means.
