Last night, I met an amazing person. Believe it or not, he works for the Government. The MALAYSIAN Government, whom many have lost faith in, as had I. But after speaking to this gentleman for a few hours, I was completely inspired and now have renewed faith. If we’re always going to be negative, it’ll just turn around and stab us in the back.
So. Let me fill you in a little.
Change cannot happen overnight, would you agree? And have you seen any changes at all? I have. I know for a fact that people are more hesitant to offer a bribe these days. Before, many people would just bribe the police officer for a speeding fine but now, if you offered the police officer a bribe, he might report you instead. There are watch dogs everywhere. The most single difficult thing is getting people to report a corruption crime as many Malaysians don’t want to get involved. Also, hard core evidence is needed and believe me, the savvy businessmen of this generation know how to EVADE tax. And it almost wouldn’t be illegal any more once they work their magic. What happens if you do report someone and that person takes revenge? Not easy.
I do truly respect this gentleman for doing this very difficult job. He has been abroad working all his life and has had to take a pay cut to return to Malaysia. WHY? To make a difference. He told me, the IJ guy had asked him, “If your children were to ask you one day, what have you achieved in your life, Papa? What would you tell them?” Mr G was already a successful man abroad yet everyone has their own definition(s) of success, isn’t it? He decided then that he was going to return to Malaysia to make a difference in the lives of Malaysians.
Every weekend, he visits little grocery store businesses to convince them in participating in the Government Transformation Programme. These little Mom and Pop stores, they earn as little as RM1,500 per month. What the Government has done is to offer them a loan, and then train them to improve their businesses, following the hypermarket business models albeit in a much smaller scale. To date, 351 little stores have been through this change and profits have gone up to an average of RM4,000 to feed their families.
People who give their weekends to serve a greater purpose rather than spend it on themselves inspire me. And this is just ONE of the million things that he has under his portfolio. What a brain. It is him who is giving me faith again in our Government. Not even Tok-Tok could achieve that.
I asked him many, many questions. I almost felt like I was tearing the Prime Minister apart but he was so good. He was humble, truthful and demonstrated pro-activeness yet wasn’t shy of sharing real facts and figures. Without going into full detail (although I wish I could but am just too tired right now and I have to finish these assignments before bed), it was truly a most interesting evening.
Thank you, Mr G, for allowing me your time.
**************************************************************************Who is Mamapumpkin?
Mamapumpkin spent 7 years in London committing crimes to gain her Bartlett degree in Architecture. She then spent 7 years as a Stay At Home Mom raising her children as documented in this blog of over 15 years thereafter returning to the Corporate World stronger than ever as the Country Director of a British Multinational. She sets out to prove to all, that you can have anything and everything that you want; if you have that fire of desire burning within and the drive to work hard. Even better with much love.
Mamapumpkin has not only grown corporate businesses successfully in the past but has grown not one but TWO network marketing businesses in the notorious MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) industry, achieving success in under 2 years. She believes in the MLM business model but realises the DRASTIC PITFALLS and great stigma attached to it, understanding EXACTLY WHY the majority would shy away (or RUN for their lives) from ANY MLM business. But open your eyes and take time to understand it intellectually, remove your hang-ups, confirm your research, and you may just want to seize an opportunity. She did. And no, she never went about chasing people for sales. She had a sophisticated system work for her through technology and a smartphone.
She now impacts lives authentically with proven strategies amassed through the last decade of her own transformation offering online coaching programmes and always supports the underprivileged. She believes that we can all have a life of our own desires to enable real contribution into the world. But first, one needs to understand what this all means.
A beautiful life without limits.
If you wish to learn some tools to propel your life forward guaranteed, be brave enough to make contact as her life's purpose is to build people. She operates through a discovery call after which she will commit to helping you. Or not.
Most lose out on an opportunity because they are afraid they would be sold to, conned or whatever fear resides in their brain without even trying. And that's on them.
Mamapumpkin is a living testimony that women really can have a lot. Being financially and time free has enabled her to travel the world anytime, anywhere, doing anything, and she spends most of her days with her children, having fun, and supporting others wherever she can. Also having fun.
