Family Wedding

I love weddings. Have I told you how much I love weddings? Some weddings are boring (when you know nobody and nobody makes any effort to talk to you) but most weddings are an opportunity to catch up with relatives and old friends and reminisce the good times to make way for the new, even better days. I love weddings.

Recently, my cousin got married. He is the number 2 grandson of the Woo clan from Teluk Intan. Because my big gang of Australian cousins were down in town, we spent the week busy entertaining them and on the day of the wedding, we were so tired and still so busy! There was the Church wedding, then the tea ceremony, and then the wedding dinner all in one day! Certainly not a good time recipe for kids!

I was exhausted!!!

So much so that my make up from Church carried me right through to the wedding dinner because honestly, I didn’t have time to even freshen up as we were busy driving people around and going from one errand to another. Plus we had to ensure the kids were fed etc etc etc.

To the point of the wedding day, I didn’t even know what I was wearing to the wedding but since my cousin from Oz brought me a lovely lace top, I’d decided to wear that. However, when we arrived home at 5pm and after my super quick shower discovered that I couldn’t indeed fit into that new top, I went rummaging into the wardrobe for a wedding outfit!!!

After 3 dresses (that all couldn’t fit!!!!), I finally had no choice but to settle for a blue dress below which forced me to suck in my stomach ALL NIGHT LONG!!!

It’s a lovely Max Mara dress that can be tied any way at the waist or hips with an attached sash and I must have looked like a blue hippo bouncing around the Ritz Carlton. That’s why I’m not showing you the bottom half! T1 wore a pretty green Somerset Bay dress which was LOUSY because not only did it tear at the joints between the lace and the chiffon fabric, the straps broke half way on one side and then the other later!!! What kind of rubbish is that???? Furthermore, I remember my Mom paying close to RM200 for it!!! LOUSY!!! I told her we could still keep it if she was prepared to wear it avante garde style like how she wore it at the wedding because we had to tie it in knots at the straps as nobody had a safety pin. The monkey had to take the ribbons from the wedding favours to tie around her head……go figure.

As I was rushing for time, I had no time to accessorize either so threw on some black heart diamante studs and some black high heels. SIMPLE!

See my two monkeys??? Bullying their Uncle Ben as usual…..

They preferred hanging outside the ballroom than sitting inside eating and enjoying the wedding…….I guess weddings must be boring for kids. If I had a choice, I wouldn’t have brought them at all but at a family wedding, all our babysitters are at the wedding!

And no, she never went about chasing people for sales. She had a sophisticated system work for her through technology and a smartphone.

She believes that we can all have a life of our own desires to enable real contribution into the world. But first, one needs to understand what this all means.

  1. I am very, very wary of clothes made from chiffon and lace coz they are super duper fragile. So I hardly post pix of chiffon and lace clothes in my online store, unless the chiffon & lace are of good quality which will not tear easily. Funny thing is though they are so fragile, chiffon and lace clothing are more expensive than lycra which is much better in quality and sturdier.
I always chuckle to myself whenever I read your posts šŸ˜€
