Facilities at PD Avillion

After getting lost and eventually finding our way to The Avillion, we were frightfully informed that we had to park our car opposite the main road. What?!! I’ll leave that for another post…..

We were greeted by this little island pergola as we entered, a pleasant enough welcome of serenity after 90 minutes of non-stop chatter from Little Miss Chatterbox.

But then had to wait a further 20 minutes before we could get to our rooms. They were really fully booked and although we had made reservations, they still took awhile to get their act together. I didn’t mind as it gave us an opportunity to absorb the surroundings and inhale the new holiday air. A welcome drink would have been nice though! This is the entrance lobby where the reception bench is and then we walk along the bridge that eventually leads us to our room.

After a pleasant walk in not too hot weather as it was about to rain, we arrived…..

And then it rained!!!

I looked down at the sea water and wasn’t impressed. Don’t think I’d be swimming in the PD sea any time soon. A far cry from Redang waters……

Our four poster bed……what a dream for T1. A princess bed!! However, it was a nightmare for me as within 5 minutes of entering the room, I started getting a major sinus attack. I wondered when the last time was that they really cleaned the room and figured that the upholstery probably didn’t see much of the washing machine. It was a difficult room to clean! THAT IS WHY….whenever developers build, they should really work together with their designers to address such maintenance issues. I would not go back purely for the musky smelling, dusty room which gave me days of allergic rhinitis. Suffer ok?

Having said that, it was a beautiful cosy room. Just damn dusty……This is the day bed that every room has, ours overlooked the sea and beach and T1 loved peeking out from her little hole that she’d created with the window blinds.

I’m not sure why I don’t have pictures of the gorgeous bathrooms. They were uniquely designed with an open roofed shower and balconies overlooking the sea, lots of slate tiles and blue mosaic. I was probably busy fussing about why we paid so much and got rotten toilet paper. I am a stickler for bog roll…..and so is the Hubs. Also, our bog rolls weren’t hotel style folded. The chamber maid forgot. I was not impressed.

And then! I found a humongous ant. A GIANT ant. And called T1 immediately to come see. See…..this is why I didn’t manage to take any bathroom pictures. That is my finger pointing below, by the way, just to give you a sense of scale how BIG the ant was. I was terrified of ants biting my bum whilst I pee’d!! Or if they crawled all over our bodies in the middle of the night!!!

We quickly adjourned to our balcony which hardly got used. If we were honeymooners, it would have been different. The KarmaSutra practice there would be in order. Heh…..anyone done it on the beach?

pd-avillion-35

And finally, the view of our water chalet from outside. Doesn’t it remind you of Pangkor Laut Resort? Those water chalets?

It is a beautiful resort just an hour getaway from the city. They just need to clean it better!!!

  1. I love the place. Try the Garden villas next time you’re there. They’re equally pleasant rooms to stay in. 🙂

  2. i think it’s the drapes on the four poster and those mini bolsters n pillows on the day bed that’s causing you sinus. those don’t get clean with each room cleaning service y know ? and i so hate those bolsters n mini pillows. god know who has hugged, sneezed and spat on them ??
wei.. u went avilion, u shud hv sacrificed some time to go tangkak before PD ler..

  3. oooo..didn’t know you went to Avillion recently 😀 err…they did fold our 2 bog rolls nicely….hahahahahahahahhaa. I have very bad sinus too and Thank God I didn’t sneeze.

Hey, have you taken the H1N1 jab? I find that I sneeze less after this jab 🙂 can’t wait to read more 😀

  4. hahahahha, if i didn’t read the previous post, i would thought you went during this school holidays. So many bloggers go to Avillion, who know can do a mega gathering there. hahahahha

I got a shock when i open your blog, scared by the header, i thought what happen and thought i went to the wrong blog! LOL!

  5. eh, at first i was wondering how come t2 looks so small in that pic and then i realized this is a backdated post. at least you still managed to post it, i got so many backdated ones, not sure if i still want to post them up.

glad that t1 enjoyed herself…next time both t1 & t2 can play on the beach together while mummy do her spa! 🙂

  6. Oh my, you must have been super busy. You only have the time to post this trip made in November now. Truly understand. It’s hard w/o a full time maid to help out. Why don’t you hire part-timers?

  7. its been yrs since i last went there and chose legend water chalet instead during my last visit there. but avillion has upgraded a lot, having a pet farm, slides at the swimming pool and God knows what else coz i only see from blogger’s photos, so they probably wont have the time or money to hire more housekeepers to clean the rooms.. haha!!

  8. try Thistle…i dont mind making a trip there.
For the same type of chalet you had, there is Legends Water Chalet for half the price.
