Eating lots of apples during pregnancy

For some reason, I keep craving apples. Red apples with a pinch of salt. I’m usually not a fan of apples at all. Give me mangoes, pineapples, oranges, grapefruit, kiwi, persimmons, nectarines, peaches, plums, cherries……..any day. Apples? Bleagh….

But now, I have 1-2 apples everyday. The good news is that eating apples during pregnancy reduces the risk of your baby in having asthma, which is really good news, since me being asthmatic and all.

This is the only positive thing of my pregnancy, unfortunately.

I am so sick everyday that I have to keep my blood sugar on an even keel or I’d be doing yoga with the toilet bowl. I’m still praying real hard that it will stop soon.

I am quite disfunctional otherwise and recently, Tee caught a virus which made her vomit 10 times last Saturday. We went to the paed immediately and he said that he wouldn’t admit her if she promised to take her meds and drink lots. She did but guess what? She negotiated with us to pay her money each time she had to take her really yucky meds! What? This is extortion!

OK, whatever. Just as long as she gets better and we don’t have to deal with unnecessary stress seeing that I am already a major stress ball.

Just pray for me, will you???!!!!!! That this nausea will STOP!!!!

On a separate note, Tee had a fall yesterday. She ran at full speed when the excitement of the door bell ring got the better of her and she took a nose dive with bum in the air which landed her on her lips. Bleeding ensued with lots of crying. Luckily only cuts on her upper lip, lower lip and tongue. No teeth damage. Minutes later, she was running again. *sigh*

What’s it with kids and running?? Is it just MY kid? Why does she have to move at super speed all the time? We have marble flooring and running is not a good idea but of course, it all falls on deaf ears. Not even the pain of it taught her that lesson.

Needless to say, she is bored at home with me as I cannot entertain her at all so she has actually requested to go to school tomorrow. I just can’t wait till this baby is O.U.T. although the cliche is that as soon as the baby is out, you’d wish for it to be in again. Hahaha……such is life!

  1. Oh gr8 that u like apples! Take small frequent meals. Snack on healthy stuff like fruit yoghurt, raisins, fruits as otherwise you’ll find urself ballooning & causing lots more health probs.

Unlike u all me pregnancies & delivery were smooth sailing (but cheated as used epidural which is a god send). I really will pray that ur morning sickness will end soon & u have a safe delivery.

  2. I know how it is to wish the vomiting will stop. You evaluate how good your day is by counting how many times you visited the toilet bowl.
About kids running, I think it is wired in. Jumping too. BabyD had one huge bungalow on his forehead last week coz’ he jumped off the couch. Two days ago he crashed into his brother’s bicycle. Nice bloody scabs round his nose. 1/2 hour later he ran and fell on the road. More scratches on his knee. What fun!

  3. How in the world did I miss this? A late Congrats to you! Sorry about all that nausea, that sucks.
    Here’s wishing you a healthy pregnancy! 🙂

  4. Had to comment .. was doing a google search on craving apples during pregnancy and ran across this! I am the exact same way .. constantly craving apples and eating 1 or 2 a day. It’s the oddest thing! 🙂

  5. Man this is so odd. I am about 17 weeks and I’m like exactly the same way with the apple cravings and the nausea! Weird! I thought the nausea would have been gone by now but nope!
