I didn’t even realise it but T2 is now 8 months old! Oh my goodness! Her latest trick is doing the sausage roll where she’d ROLLLLLLLLL…….flip-flop-flip-flop-flip-flop…….to get to whatever she wants. She cannot crawl yet and rolling is her way of being mobile. She can certainly rolllllll…….to get whatever it is she wants! When she’s on her tummy, she can crawl a little but usually in rotation. This frustrates her, so she just rolls instead.
One day, I put a toy on top of a pillow and encouraged her to crawl towards it but you know what she did instead? She stre…….tched out her arms and pu…..llled the pillow towards her instead and tada!! The toy was hers. Cheeky bugger.
We were feeding her salmon porridge for the last 2 weeks that she got so sick of it and today she absolutely refused to open her mouth for another bite of fish porridge. NO WAY, said her face. So I fed her some pear instead, which she gobbled down in a huff and then fed her some bread and butter, which she was very happy to swallow. This evening, I made her some pasta and she loved it, kept asking for more. I love it when she loves her food as she is still soooooooooo skinny.
In fact, the Doctor was worried at her last visit as she is only putting on like a hundred grammes in a month, which is way too little. She is on her 9th month now and still weighs only 6.30kg. Sad, or not? We are now awaiting to pass over a stool sample to the Doctor to check if the fats in her diet are all being passed out, pending further tests. If this hasn’t been stressing me out, I don’t know what else has.
T2 loves her favourite songs that we sing to her i.e. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (in which she knows how to do the hand actions), Incy Wincy Spider and Pat-A -Cake. Yes, this is as far as Mommy’s nursery rhymes memory collection goes. T2 can wave bye-bye and shake her head when you tell her to. AND, she knows how to smile for the camera. Vain, or not? It seriously comes so naturally to her!!!
Although T2 drives me to insanity each day, I really, really treasure having her around as she is just SO DARN cute. Her personality and antics send us into hysterics every single day. And if THAT isn’t joy, then I don’t know what is.
