The Bumbo Baby Chair is one of the most versatile baby products for babies once they start having some head and neck strength. It allows babies to sit when they can’t yet sit on their own without being supported. There are several variations of products that allow babies to ‘sit’ upright before they are actually able to sit on their own unsupported but I like the Bumbo Baby Chair the best because it is small (this means you can take it with you whilst traveling), and you can place it anywhere FLAT. Yeah, don’t go trying to balance it on your duvet or the pillow.

2. Easy to clean – waterproof, you can even use it as a paddle boat…..I’m kidding.

3. Supports baby front and back. No more bopping forward.

4. Allows baby to see the world rather than the ceiling. Have you ever tried facing the ceiling for days?

5. Keeps baby close to me anywhere (so I can be hands free cooking, folding clothes or have a shower whilst she watches) – much easier than baby in a sling or baby carrier. We want them close but not THAT close…..

6. Doubles up as a feeding chair – save cost!

7. You can bring it to the beach! Or you’d have to carry baby the whole time…..

8. It is soft enough that baby cannot accidentally knock or injure herself. If it was hard plastic, they could bang their little heads, no?

Why the girls loved the Bumbo Baby Chair:

1. It is comfortable, yes, T1 said so! Like a molded bouncy castle that doesn’t bounce.

2. They could gnaw their teeth into Bumbo – teether double up.

3. It allowed them to be close to Mama – whilst absorbing everything Mama was doing……

4. They could wear Bumbo as a hat – hell, yeah!!

5. Since they were both small in size, T1 used Bumbo till she was 5! But now at 6, no more…..but this only applies to skinny babies, like mine. Some big babies outgrow Bumbo at 3 months because their legs get stuck at the holes.

6. They liked banging the sides of Bumbo drumming a beat – learn rhythm from the start

7. Sometimes, they use Bumbo as a football – err…..my kids use anything as a football

8. They looked really cute in Bumbo whilst adults took photos of them in the Bumbo baby chair – a fantastic prop!
