This morning was my first morning parking in Bangsar after a long time and I noticed that they now have new parking meters (oh crap! I should have taken a picture of it, just to show you as evidence!!!). Being the good citizen that I am, I went to get a ticket to put on my car but I am right now sitting in Starbucks with my car dangerously parked without a ticket and ready for a police summon!
I have always considered myself to be of average intelligence and despite that, know that there are millions and gazillions of people in Malaysia who are of below average intelligence. Thus when designing a parking meter, or rather, designing the instructions that go with it, don’t you think that it should be targetted to at least the majority of the population? Yes, I am saying that the majority population are of below average intelligence. At least, that’s my point of view.
So imagine my frustration this morning when I couldn’t get the darn parking meter to operate!!! The instructions were not clear and in fact, didn’t even make sense. But that’s so typical in Malaysia. They get idiots to design for the country because all the smart ones are smart enough to stay abroad. For example, who do you think designs all the road highway signages in malaysia? They go around in motorbikes marking their maps on where to put the signages, do you think motorbikes have the same view points as other large vehicles??? Then most of the time, the signages are blocked by overgrown leaves. No wonder people get lost all the time. Or maybe it’s a ploy to distract the people so the Government can play.
So. Parking meters in Bangsar – does anyone know how to operate them? Perhaps mine wasn’t working but they really should be working if they are new. It said to press for your language so I pity the people who cannot read Bahasa or English. Then to key in your car number, yet the keypad had ABCs and 123s, but when you type it in, only the numerals show. Then nothing happens. Click, click, click. Nothing happens. Click, click, click, click everywhere. Nothing happens. Read instructions step by step. Follow in detail. Re-read instructions. Click, click. Nothing happens. Click, click, click, click. Nothing happens. I looked around.
Then kicked the blasted machine and walked off.

Mamapumpkin spent 7 years in London committing crimes to gain her Bartlett degree in Architecture. She then spent 7 years as a Stay At Home Mom raising her children as documented in this blog of over 15 years thereafter returning to the Corporate World stronger than ever as the Country Director of a British Multinational. Mamapumpkin has not only grown corporate businesses successfully in the past but has grown not one but TWO network marketing businesses in the notorious MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) industry, achieving success in under 2 years. She believes in the MLM business model but realises the DRASTIC PITFALLS and great stigma attached to it, understanding EXACTLY WHY the majority would shy away (or RUN for their lives) from ANY MLM business. But open your eyes and take time to understand it intellectually, remove your hang-ups, confirm your research, and you may just want to seize an opportunity. She did. And no, she never went about chasing people for sales. She had a sophisticated system work for her through technology and a smartphone.
She now impacts lives authentically with proven strategies amassed through the last decade of her own transformation offering online coaching programmes and always supports the underprivileged. She believes that we can all have a life of our own desires to enable real contribution into the world. But first, one needs to understand what this all means.
A beautiful life without limits.

Most lose out on an opportunity because they are afraid they would be sold to, conned or whatever fear resides in their brain without even trying. And that's on them.
Mamapumpkin is a living testimony that women really can have a lot. Being financially and time free has enabled her to travel the world anytime, anywhere, doing anything, and she spends most of her days with her children, having fun, and supporting others wherever she can. Also having fun.

They have erected parking meters all over Taman Desa and TTDI too!!!!! I think our government is trying to rip us off.
So far I haven’t bothered with them darn meters yet! They don’t seem to be working anyway…
HA HA.. too funny. The Malaysian highway and Building Codes are based on the English Standards and we all know that the American Standards are wayyyyyyyyyy better…. but that’s another story.
Like the Boss said, Malaysian Highway and signage are drawn by people on motor bikes. Samy, SaMY, SAMY!!!!!! where are you? How’s your forced retirement? Lots of people complaining about your roads lah! Other things to look out for;
1. MRR2 – cracking beams. When is this going to fall? its ok lah can still use. Should we park all the Minister’s car there?
2. Ampang Elevated Highway. Ever wonder why there’s a section of road that dead ends into a wall? Draftsman fell asleep and the hand slipped or Samy tore up the plans and they taped it back, misaligned….
3. KL – Putrajaya -KLIA highway. There’s a killer section just before the Putrajaya Toll that was inspired from Formula 1 chicanes. You need to slow to 40 km/h from 90 km/h, turn right and left DOWN HILL. If you miss it you will be in the barrier. Try doing this in the dark.
those parking meters are such a bane. Thats why i just park the car inside Bangsar village as you never know when you get delayed and there’s a big summons waiting for you
