There is this culturally rich restaurant along the main stretch of Solaris called Ole-Ole Bali that has a gorgeous spread of Balinese food but because I’d been there so many times this year, I got sick of it especially when the last time I went, our food was overly salty. I think the chef had an operation that day which saw doctors inserting 2 kilograms of metal into his tibias and I swore never to return again. 10 times in a year was more than enough.
And then guess what?
I just went there last week again (lesson to learn? Never believe me when I say, I swear!) but was glad that I enjoyed the food very much. I ordered the Nasi Campur Ole-Ole which comprised flavoured rice with a portion of beef or chicken rendang, a satay stick, grilled lemon grass prawns, some fried squid, a piece of grilled fish and a portion of kangkong. All that came with condiments of green chillies in oil, some kerabu style vegetables and sambal belacan. Lovely. A potpourri of Bali in my tummy.

For kids, there is a kids menu of chicken nuggets and fries, fish and chips….the usual suspects. The kids liked it!

Nasi Campur Ole-Ole

This was I think a lamb rendang dish? I can’t remember, sorry!

And this? Chicken? We were too busy eating!

Where we sat last week…..Japanese style? Or modern day Balinese style? Funny how pork is very popular in Bali but not here, hoo-hoo-hoo…..

Another view of the restaurant. There is also outdoor seating that is refreshing if you like the al fresco style dining with carbon monoxide wind in your face. And food. Heh.
For 1 Nasi Campur Ole-Ole and 1 Banana Milkshake, I paid RM48.00.
Portions are very big. There were so many more yummy dishes to try like the desserts and the drinks but I was way stuffed.

And no, she never went about chasing people for sales. She had a sophisticated system work for her through technology and a smartphone.
