Do you have children? Have you ever imagined what you would do when and if the Doctor told you that your child had leukaemia?
This is very real, ladies and gentlemen. Anyone can get leukaemia. And unfortunately, leukaemia hit my friend’s son at the mere age of 2.5 this year. Just 6 months earlier, I was informed about this Mommy’s plight in handling her own sickness last year and wanted to help her. And 6 months later, her own son was diagnosed with leukaemia. How is that fair?
To make things worse, she is a Single Mom with an older son to care for and to make things even worse, she just lost her job recently. Companies are just NOT empathetic when you are affecting their bottom line. Was it her fault that her son contracted leukaemia and so she has to spend time at the hospital taking him for regular chemotherapy sessions? Was it her fault that she has to take time off work to do this? I understand about the time off taken and so salaries are cut accordingly but when I heard he got rid of her completely, I was pissed. Where is the compassion?
It is NO JOKE caring for a sick child. It is already a nightmare caring for a sick child at home who has a fever or one with an infection for a week, can you imagine what more continuously for the entire year? I would have died standing but you know what, until you are in that exact position, you really have no clue just how much one gets drained and sucked by the mere living daylights out of your own body till there is none left. MaryAnne has no choice but to keep going. She has very little options. Being strong is the only thing she has to keep moving forward. Her savings have been depleted.
Recently, Baby Ethan had a reaction to one of his chemo meds and so the Doctors are now changing it to cost another RM70,000. It is a painful journey mentally, financially and emotionally.
Can I please ask that you help MaryAnne by sending her a donation to see her baby through his chemo protocol for the entire 2 years? On top of paying for hospital bills, MaryAnne also feeds Baby Ethan Izumio to strengthen his little body and lessen his chemotherapy symptoms. Izumio is also helping with his bed sores. MaryAnne has never wanted to ask for donations but at this point, she is strapped. Doors are closing in on her and her son’s life is at stake. It doesn’t help when blabbermouths go around making up stories about her getting freebies and accusing her of killing her son with chemotherapy, etc. The woman is already high with stress and worry, can everyone just give her a break already?
Due to high steroidal intake, Baby Ethan gets hungry at the oddest hours and asks for a variety of favourite food constantly.
