How often do you meet like-minded Moms who want to be a strong part of their children’s growing up years? In the past, when I was a full time Stay at Home Mom, searching for things to do with kids and other Moms was easy as we had all the time in the world but now that I am working full time, this becomes increasingly difficult. More often than not, we will spend quality time with our kids as a family but hardly have any time to network with like-minded Moms to discuss, share and offer solutions to our kids growing hurdles. At every step of their development, there are hurdles and everyone goes through them at some point or other. It would be so helpful if we had a forum for discussion and a place just to spend quality time with our most loved ones whilst killing two birds with a stone and still have that interaction with other like-minded Moms!

Whenever I have a problem, (and let’s face it, every Mom has problems with their kids!), the first place I’d consult is the ever faithful internet. However, information on the internet isn’t always reliable and it is also one sided. If you had more questions, you’re stuck googling the night away. Sometimes you get an answer, sometimes you don’t. I’d much rather have an actual Mom help me by giving me useful tips or search around the Mom network for these useful tips. At least they are tried and tested tips!

So how would you get connected to a Mommy network???

Have you heard of Friso GUT? No, it isn’t a condition in your gut. It is the Friso GROWING UP TOGETHER programme that aims to enhance the journey of motherhood and to support her role of growing up together with her children. The Friso GUT programme supports Progressive Moms who want to play a hands-on role in bringing up their children holistically which covers all areas of their development, body, mind and soul.

But if you’re already a Mom, you know how difficult it is to make a conscious effort to spend quality time with your kids when there is already so much to do in caring for a child, let alone two! Take me, for example, my schedule is already packed to the brim and at the end of every day, I don’t even have the energy to think of where to bring the kids or what to do with them when all I am dreading is the pile of laundry, the cleaning, the homework, the office work, the groceries, and all the rest of busyness that accompanies an accomplished Progressive Mom!

It is quite refreshing then for Friso to organise GUT Activation Days where Moms and their children come together to exchange experiences and ideas, and a venue for everyone to have fun together and explore further the joy of doing things together with our kids.

Who is Mamapumpkin?
Mamapumpkin spent 7 years in London committing crimes to gain her Bartlett degree in Architecture.
