I know. I know. It sounds bloody morbid but since I’ve been spending the last few days at my late uncle’s wake, I’ve been thinking of my own death. Which may be sooner than you think. Nevertheless, since my Dad told me he had bought his Nirvana package already so that is kids won’t have to fight over who pays for it, it got me thinking about my own funeral.
First and foremost, I went searching and found my funeral picture, a most recent best shot. Hey, I must look damn good right!!!??? My daughter rolled her eyeballs when I told her and she said, “Mom, you are dead and it will be of no consequence!!” Goodness gracious me. She just doesn’t get it. I then asked her if she would give a eulogy for me, her one and only mother. She rolled her eyeballs again and said, “Tell you what, Mom. Why don’t you write one right now for yourself and save it and I will read it out on that day for you.” That got me so pissed!!! I said no way!!! YOU have to write it or it will not be real!!! She rolled her eyeballs at me again and assured me that for me, her one and only beloved Mom, she WILL give me a eulogy at my funeral. As you are my witness, please make sure my eldest daughter does just that ok?
I then told her that I would make a slideshow of my life from start to almost end and she started laughing. Hey!!! I didn’t trust them to choose any fat photos of me OK!!! I would only choose all the hottest photos for public consumption and I told her that I want my guests to be fed with my favourite food. LOL. The funeral has to be perfect just as my wedding was.
As of this moment, I am still designing my funeral. I need to think of songs to be played and whom I would like to invite to give eulogies and where and how. Even what my orbituary would say. I am such an anal retentive madam that everything must be A-OK perfect.
What touched me deeply at my uncle’s funeral was that the people who attended it ranged from ministers and businessmen to the neighbourhood tai chow guy and the house electrician amongst many others. The range and breathe of people were amazing. It goes to show that he had touched many lives all across the board not just from a few particular segments of people. I so wanted to say a few words as he had really touched my life too for real but I knew I would have been one big wreck up there hence did not.
Life is short. Embrace every moment.

And no, she never went about chasing people for sales. She had a sophisticated system work for her through technology and a smartphone.

She believes that we can all have a life of our own desires to enable real contribution into the world. But first, one needs to understand what this all means.
