By tonight, we would have finished the party planning of Tee’s grand birthday bash once and for all. It has taken us 6 weeks in total and lots of running around to get this done. Even her Godfather from New York is flying in to attend the event of the century. We are so honoured! But if you think it’s a big, big party, no. Not at all. I would have liked it to be smaller but there are minimum numbers to meet with F&B.

Tee has been very excited making decisions all to do with her party. The theme of the party is green and she even tells people, if you don’t have something green to wear, don’t worry. You can also bring something green or carry something green. So diplomatic. Her mother just tells the other Mommies, “if you and your husbands aren’t in green, you’re getting pushed into the pool!” Period.

Why did the planning take so long? Err…because I have a newborn? No, that’s not it. Because it is a journey for Tee and me, a journey of hard work together, a journey of friendship, a journey of learning what counts, a journey of giving from the heart. What happens at the party is not so important. What was important was that together, we made every single thank you gift for her friends.

MADE.

Not bought.

That’s why the 6 weeks……

Some think we are mad to go through so much effort but we thoroughly enjoyed it. And whether people actually appreciate our efforts or not are irrelevant. In 10 years time, we will know how many of Tee’s friends remain her friends. Even if it is ONE out of the 15 special friends that she has personally invited to her party, I’d be very happy for her. Because real friends are hard to come by. Honestly, having one true friend is way better than five thousand fake friends.

And so I hope the journey of her friendships continue for a very long time.

Who is Mamapumpkin?
Mamapumpkin spent 7 years in London committing crimes to gain her Bartlett degree in Architecture. And no, she never went about chasing people for sales. She had a sophisticated system work for her through technology and a smartphone.

She now impacts lives authentically with proven strategies amassed through the last decade of her own transformation offering online coaching programmes and always supports the underprivileged. She believes that we can all have a life of our own desires to enable real contribution into the world. But first, one needs to understand what this all means.
