It’s only July but it feels like 10 years have swooshed by I kid you not. That has always been my life though, hasn’t it? A million things happening cramped into one minute blocks of colour with emotional mini waves that have found its way in and out and I feel a huge happy typhoon arriving.
Firstly, I am over-travelled. Is there such a thing? London in January. Niseko and Penang in February. Singapore and Hong Kong in March. Melbourne and Adelaide in April. Alaska in June. London and Wales in July. None of it was for business but I earn residual income so no problem there!
For the glory of friendship, I have cancelled all travel plans for the rest of the year. I think. Instead, I’m taking my family to the beach as soon as school breaks next week for a repeat of our last Disneyland memory.
I have been meeting quite a lot of new, interesting beings of late and they somehow happen to be much, much older, or foreign. Their intellectual capacity and richness of experience lends a calm to my restless soul which I very much need right now. There really is more to life than we care to admit and I for one think it is time for me to move on to new horizons.
For once, I can focus on me.
Over the next 5 months, I will expend all my energy to getting the new home ready, work on new business ventures, read my unread books, maybe visit a friend or two abroad at leisure (oops, no traveling, remember?), enjoy some gin with my new crazy friends from London, EXERCISE, try not to piss the medical faculties off, watch my children closer, wile my Netflix addictions away, and basically be a sloth whenever the fuck I feel like it.
At the risk of sounding arrogant, I did it again.
But don’t anyone dare say I didn’t deserve it.
The universe always gives what you deserve and if you deserve more, your time will come dependent on your actions today. I am grateful for all that I have. So grateful. I only wish my late Mom was here to enjoy the smells of roses with me. With us. Life would be that much sweeter. Complete actually.
PS : Side gossip – a dearest friend, bless her heart I love her so much, sent me a public porn video of someone I know who has been totally sucky in the past. It is testament again for the umpteenth time that karma makes its way around. God really has my back.
