After seeing this image on Facebook one day, I rounded up the girl for a lesson in gratitude. There’s nothing like seeing imagery for lessons, and better still if the kids could be there real life as proven by my bringing T1 to Myanmar to see for herself how the children sleep on dirty floors.
After a 10 minute explanation on how lucky we are in our part of the world to have food readily accessible rather than being poor and in countries where famine is apparent, and this was met with curious eyes full of disbelief that the baby on the right literally has no bum cheeks, I asked T2 gently, “So T2, if you had lots of food like you do every day, could you please share it with the poor people who have no food?”
Before even her thinking for a second, her answer shot out so quickly that it darted my heart, “NO WAY!!!”
Where have I gone wrong? My 4 year old is the most selfish, know what she wants and what she doesn’t want little girl on this side of the world. It truly is time for damage control – sigh…………
What do you think she’s playing on the above photo? This was taken in Australia and I thought they were playing graduation ceremony when she walking around with a box over her head, then someone else asked if she was being a model, walking on stage like a Miss Universe; but it was actually she and her sister playing robots. LOL!!! Does she look like a robot to you???
