How far have I come ? I am now happily ‘home-schooling’ my 17 month old toddler by having tons and tons of creative fun. It makes me so, so, so happy to be able to nurture this thing that we made and observe her development day by day. Something I always wished for as a child was to have mommy with me. From the lack of mommy in my life, I can fiercely reinforce that children require positive attention from mommy. I am no child psychologist, but it is different when mommy takes a minute to clean your bum and when the maid cleans your bum. It really is…….!!! I do not know how to prove this but just ask any child and I’d love to hear their response.
Tee is so in love with mommy (despite mommy being strict with many NOs) that she is having trouble sleeping on her own without holding mommy’s hand. But she has to learn how to be independent. So we have introduced Jojo the Duck, who loves her as much as mommy and whom she will hug to bed instead of mommy. It is her 2nd day with Jojo and although she hasn’t fully embraced the idea yet, she’s a fast learner so we’ll see.
Sometimes we have to be tough in order to do the right thing.
“Mama, Mama….”, Tee sobbed with those puppy dog teary eyes as she looked at me with longing as though I was about to leave her forever. Such a drama queen, my little one. Reminds me of all those lead roles I had in school plays. Yes, she did get a lot of traits from her Mommy – the good and the bad.
If there is one thing I’ve learnt from the lack of Mommy in my life as a child, it is the fact that I could do whatever the hell I wanted. No limits were set. Mommy was always out of the house so that pretty much left me to my own devices, including whether I needed to study or not. The lack of attention however left me with a longing, a desperate longing that even if she had given me some bad attention, it would’ve sufficed. Unfortunately that never arrived but fortunately I managed to free myself of that longing once and for all. (For tips on how to do this, contact me direct).
So even though we cant have the double income lifestyle that we were so accustomed to, caring for Tee directly myself is definitely the best decision I have ever made and I have never been so sure about something in my whole entire life.
Check in again when Tee is a teenager, I might’ve changed my mind by then.

She believes that we can all have a life of our own desires to enable real contribution into the world. But first, one needs to understand what this all means.
