Toddler Development – when you should start worrying.

All my friends, locally and internationally, with 2 year olds, have graduated into toddler beds or big girl/boy beds in their own respective rooms. Which leaves Tee, the only two year old I know, the last of the group *sob*, to achieve this very significant (to us) milestone.Tee is not even remotely close to taking this big step into the dark side independence. Thus it will be awhile still before she accomplishes the gruelling feat of letting go of Mummy’s bed. Just so you know, the Hubs has demoted himself to sleeping on the floor, by choice, since nightly kungfu kicks by powerful female legs no longer appealed to him.

We tried hyping the move into her own bedroom; the cool bed, the amazing sheets, the cutest pillows, the fun curtains, the starry ceiling, the colourful wall stickers, the playful night light but no. While she fully appreciated our efforts, she still wanted to sleep in Mummy’s bed.

We tried camping in Mummy and Daddy’s bedroom! We brought in a tent so she could sleep in her tent while Mummy and Daddy slept on OUR bed. She had so much fun camping but still, any fool would’ve chosen Mummy and Daddy’s warm, comfy bed to a polyester Winnie the Pooh tent. So THAT didn’t work.

We showed her how good, clever and brave all her friends were, sleeping in their OWN special beds in their own marvelous rooms. She totally acknowledged her friends being good, clever and brave…… but I swear at the back of her mind, she was probably sniggering, “HAH!! Big suckers!!”.

We let her ‘cry it out’ and she screamed till the crystals in our home began to tremble. And it went on for a whole 3 hours. Then we got a call from the neighbour, “STOP TORTURING YOUR CHILD!!!!”

In the meantime, I’ve started having recurring nightmares of me sharing her dorm bed at college and worse, helping her wipe her butt in those communal dorm toilets.

I am a little frightened, to say the least.

Don’t let this fool you. She only slept in her toddler bed for an hour.

Who is Mamapumpkin?
Mamapumpkin spent 7 years in London committing crimes to gain her Bartlett degree in Architecture. She then spent 7 years as a Stay At Home Mom raising her children as documented in this blog of over 15 years thereafter returning to the Corporate World stronger than ever as the Country Director of a British Multinational. She sets out to prove to all, that you can have anything and everything that you want; if you have that fire of desire burning within and the drive to work hard. Even better with much love.

Mamapumpkin has not only grown corporate businesses successfully in the past but has grown not one but TWO network marketing businesses in the notorious MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) industry, achieving success in under 2 years. She believes in the MLM business model but realises the DRASTIC PITFALLS and great stigma attached to it, understanding EXACTLY WHY the majority would shy away (or RUN for their lives) from ANY MLM business. But open your eyes and take time to understand it intellectually, remove your hang-ups, confirm your research, and you may just want to seize an opportunity. She did. And no, she never went about chasing people for sales. She had a sophisticated system work for her through technology and a smartphone.

She now impacts lives authentically with proven strategies amassed through the last decade of her own transformation offering online coaching programmes and always supports the underprivileged. She believes that we can all have a life of our own desires to enable real contribution into the world. But first, one needs to understand what this all means.

A beautiful life without limits.

If you wish to learn some tools to propel your life forward guaranteed, be brave enough to make contact as her life's purpose is to build people. She operates through a discovery call after which she will commit to helping you. Or not.

Most lose out on an opportunity because they are afraid they would be sold to, conned or whatever fear resides in their brain without even trying. And that's on them.

Mamapumpkin is a living testimony that women really can have a lot. Being financially and time free has enabled her to travel the world anytime, anywhere, doing anything, and she spends most of her days with her children, having fun, and supporting others wherever she can. Also having fun.
Show your support and spread the love!

  1. Hahaha what a cute pic! Dont worry when the time is right she will move into her own bed. Oh ya I’m sure when she is older she will want her own privacy so no need to worry that u will be bunking in with her during college.

  2. oh dear. I wish I had GOOD advice for you, but the honest situation is my 5 year old STILL won’t sleep by himself. We’ve tried EVERYTHING. And now he has his (formerly rational) three-year-old brother scared of sleeping by himself too. We’re the only people I know who will admit to having such an old child sleep with one of us, but I suspect there are actually more out there. I’m hoping that now that he’s in kindergarten the peer pressure thing might work. Otherwise we’re probably going to have to put a lock on his bedroom door and bring lots of ear plugs and presents to the neighbors for a week. It’s REALLY past ridiculous here. Good luck!

  3. don’t you worry about it. she’s obviously happy and content right where she is. you’re the momma and you know what’s best. we transitioned dj into his own bed/room a few months ago. it has changed MY life. hubby didn’t mind being kicked in the ribs but, i was tired of TWO people fumbling for my breast in the night. somebody had to go! 😉
