Doing the dishes

The Hubs does that every night. This is because I am short and can barely reach the taps thus if I stood too long at the kitchen sink, my back gives way and this becomes an even bigger problem for the Hubs. He has to hear me whinge about a bad back. And beg for a back massage. Have you ever heard me whinge? Have you heard a screeching cat scratch a broken record? I’m not sure which is worse and sure, the Hubs could just smack me on the head. But he doesn’t have the balls heart to do that.

I’ve suggested countless times that we should get one of those Whirlpool Dishwashers but he comes up with all sorts of excuses. He says that there is only two and a half of us at home, how many dishes would we really wash in the dishwasher? He says it’s a waste of water and electricity. He says we don’t have the space for a dishwasher and that it is a complicated process installing it. My friends tell me they save so much time with a dishwasher. I guess I won’t really know till I’ve used one first hand. And for now, I shan’t complain since the Hubs does the dishes.

But for those of you whose husband doesn’t? Go get that dishwasher. Think extra time with your kids. Think extra time for yourself. Surely, that’s worth something.

  1. My Hubs did the dishes when maid was away for a month. Then he started getting smart & he have excuse that he had to go sit on the throne. By the time he finished it was already time for him to go to clinic & I ended doing it myself!
