Our first morning in Chiang Mai

I was in awe when we arrived at the boutique hotel – exactly as the website had promised……If you decide to come to Chiang Mai and want to stay here at the Yantarasri Boutique Resort, do contact me as I can get better rates for my regular readers. Very good rates *smiles*

Our troupe checking in….the reception space couldn’t take us all hence the spillover.

I always told you my beloved T1 was weird, right? Upon check-in, she does this…..

She was SO excited!!! And extremely thrilled that she was not only ‘ponteng-ing‘ school but ‘ponteng-ing‘ part of her final year exams!!! What to do, bad Mother booked the holiday tickets without first consulting the school calendar. For goodness sake, she’s only just turned 6 – she can ‘ponteng‘ all she wants! (oops, I hope the Hubs doesn’t hear me say that especially since he pays school fees!)

We dumped our bags and the girls just HAD to test the bed out.

And the bath!!! All four of us could fit in it!!! A mini swimming pool or play pan for T2, muahahaha!!!

Little details like these always make me smile. I loved that the bathroom doors had this traditional manual timber lock. You just don’t see things like this anymore…..

I loved that people spend time and patience to fold a fan out of the Kleenex. They did the fan thing with the bog roll too and guess what? I tried folding it back after I’d used it and ruined the original fan and I COULD NOT DO IT!!! How difficult can it be to fold a fan on some toilet roll, right??? Shit! It just wouldn’t hold!!! And that is why we do not have a fan toilet roll pic up. Go try….let me know if you succeed, then tell me the secret.

Even the floor mat was arranged……actually it was done more perfect but I’d tripped over it and rearranged it slightly back. Heh. I was certainly not made for such domesticity but oh, how I wish!

We were summoned down to zoom for our first Thai lunch and boy, was it YUM!!! In Chiang Mai, because we know a very good friend, Tok-Tok’s Thai brother, he takes us to all the authentic Thai places. We had…..

Thai green curry – very spicy even though it doesn’t look green nor does it look spicy.

Chilli Cat fish

Thai red curry

Sweet fragrant pork – we had extra since Nana and Tok-Tok refused to eat it, more for us – Yay!

Thai flower curry – yup, real flowers.

Fried Thai Omelette (for baby)

Thai coconut cendol to end – and boy, were we STUFFED by then. If you’re interested to try the above dishes when YOU visit Chiang Mai, do ask and I shall email you the details.

My little chilli padi, she got bored pretty quick eating rice and egg and ate some curry rice instead!

I love this photo below because T2 is framed by 3 obscure heads. I took it, of course. If only I’d brought along my DSLR because photos would be SO much richer then.

After lunch, T1 made Tok-Tok play some girlie school game with her. You know, those that involve hands and clappings and rhymes…..LOL. And might I say, he was such an amazing sport. I really couldn’t be bothered. I am such a bad Mom…..

Whilst Nana entertained T2……

And then they break and have a foursome, and all this while, the rest of the 19 of us are somewhere in the background yakking away and causing another riot.

To which we returned to our room and completely PASSED OUT. After lunch.

She believes that we can all have a life of our own desires to enable real contribution into the world. But first, one needs to understand what this all means.
