Smarty Pants lines from a six year old….

Whenever baby T2 misbehaves, I will scold her firmly and look sternly into her eyes. For example, she likes hitting me when she doesn’t get her way and I will scold her. She will then pull my glasses off, hit me more and then scold me. I will then tell her that we do NOT scream.

This happens all the time but one day, in front of her big sister, the big bugger had to add, “Do you know why she screams? Do you know where she learns it from?”

Knowing exactly what was about to come out of her mouth, I lifted my eyebrows at T1 not really wanting to know and true enough, her answer was, “She learns it from YOU….”

In the car the other day, I told the Hubs that we were going to Melaka to visit a friend during the next long school holidays. He asked which friend and I told him my dearest friend with the 4 kids who lives in the kampung.

T1 said, “Mom, your friend must be crazy mad.”

I was shocked. How can she say that about a friend she’s never met? So I asked her why she said that.

“Why? You only have TWO kids and you’re already MAD!!!”

One day whilst playing the supermarket game (supermarket lotto with cards and trucks from ELC) with T1, I noticed the lush chocolate cake card looking at me and calling out my name and mentioned it to T1.

“Wouldn’t it be nice if we could REALLY have this chocolate cake right now, instead of just playing with these cards?”

It stopped her on her tracks and she looked at the chocolate cake on the card, her eyes too started glinting.

“What do you think? Shall we go out to see where we can get some chocolate cake?”

She smiled and panted, “Mom, can you see the hearts popping out of my eyes??? Let’s go!!”

This girl – she is so my daughter……

Whilst in Australia, we saw for the first time in our lives real black and white cows. You know, the cows we see here are always brown and anorexic but there, my goodness! They were big, fat black and white Fresian cows. Real ones double my height! OK, I’m not real tall but still, real cows. T1 reasoned that since the black and white cows produced the white milk, then the brown cows (also available in Australia, though much, much fatter) must produce chocolate milk.

One day, whilst still at the farm, I said, “We aren’t lucky enough to spot a pink cow yet, huh?”

My little girl frowned.

“You know? The pink cows…..the ones that produce strawberry milk?” I continued……

Her frown turned into a contorted scowl of bewilderment. “Pink cows???? Are there really pink cows?”

“Sure, there are! There are pink pigs! There are pink cows!”

The rest of the ride for T1 was spent in deep thought pondering about the existence of pink cows.

Silence is bliss.

Baby T2 has a habit of copying everything that we do, including wiping the table clean. Whenever she gets hold of a tissue or a wet wipe, she’d wipe the table, or floor or toy. She obviously knows what a wet wipe or tissue is for.

One day, whilst T2 was doing her usual cleaning, T2 suggested, “You know, Mom? Since T2 likes cleaning so much, maybe she can become a maid when she grows up.”

:-O

Whilst revising her Science with her last term, I asked T1, “So does a hen give birth or lays eggs?”

“Lays eggs!”

“And what comes out of the eggs???”

“Baby eggs?”

FAIL.

And no, she never went about chasing people for sales. She had a sophisticated system work for her through technology and a smartphone.

She now impacts lives authentically with proven strategies amassed through the last decade of her own transformation offering online coaching programmes and always supports the underprivileged. She believes that we can all have a life of our own desires to enable real contribution into the world. But first, one needs to understand what this all means.

Most lose out on an opportunity because they are afraid they would be sold to, conned or whatever fear resides in their brain without even trying. And that's on them.
